Um, my puppy's baby teeth are falling out...Is this normal?

He is a 4 month old Westie puppy, and he used to have all of his little wittle teeth growing it. A few days ago, I noticed an empty space. Now, I noticed that there are 2 empty spaces on top, and 2 empty spaces in the middle. Is this ok? And if not, what can I do to help him?

Um, my puppy's baby teeth are falling out...Is this normal?
Yes, this is completely normal. My 5 month old puppy is currently teething and we've found 4 of her teeth on the floor.. which is somewhat rare because puppies usually swallow them. We also give her ice cubes, which she loves because the coldness is said to help numb the pain of the gums.
Reply:just like little kids lose their teeth and get adult teeth, so do puppies.

good luck!
Reply:yes they loose teeth just as we do.Eighteen weeks is not really that early. It's more than 4 months, so it's normal.

The exact schedule does vary from breed to breed.

The incisors turn over from deciduous to permanent from two to four months of age. The canines usually convert around six months of age. The premolars and molars follow in that order, with the last permanent molar erupting around eight months of age.

Dogs have 28 deciduous (temporary) teeth and 42 permanent teeth. Puppies have no teeth at birth, and grow deciduous teeth beginning their second week of life.

At three months of age, the deciduous teeth begin to be replaced by the permanent teeth. The replacement process begins with the incisors, and moves back

wards through the canines, premolars and finally the molars. The turnover process is usually complete by the time the dog is eight months old, with none of the original 28 deciduous teeth remaining. Most deciduous teeth are swallowed with food and never seen by the pet owner. Occasionally a deciduous tooth is merely pushed to the side and retained next to the permanent tooth. Retained deciduous teeth can be removed by a veterinarian.
Reply:Um, yeah, I'm sure you lost your baby teeth. Its the same for animals too.
Reply:Yes it is there falling out so that he can get his adult teeth hehehe his teeth will get sharper have fun. get chew toys for him to chew on so that his teeth grow strong
Reply:Yes this is normal for your puppies age. You may even see a bit of blood on his chew toys. Just keep him occupied with toys he can easily chew on. He will be fine.
Reply:heck yes. my dog lost baby teeth did. chill out dude.
Reply:Yes this is normal. He will be fine. Its a sign that he is healthy. They lose their baby teeth like we do.
Reply:Yes, this is perfectly normal. Actually I feel you are lucky that your Yorkie is losing his baby teeth. Frequently in the smaller breeds, the baby teeth don't fall out and the permenate teeth start coming in, really messing up their bite unless the vet puts the pup under anesthetic and pulls the baby teeth.
Reply:perfectly okey, it really sucks when they chew on something of yours and leave a bloody print because their tooth came off on the cloth. so keep your white things hidden. also try not to step on the teeth, they really hurt.
Reply:It's normal. His new teeth will grow in soon.
Reply:Yes, between now and about 6-8 moths, he will lose all baby teeth and grow new adult teeth..Just like human kids!
Reply:Yes. Your baby teeth fell out when you started getting older didn't they? Puppies should be losing their teeth at about this age. Everything is very normal.
Reply:yes
Reply:calm down dear, he is just fine. pups loose their puppy teeth and grow in dog teeth.

God Bless you and your family.

Reply:Just like humans dogs and cats have deciduous (baby) teeth that fall out. There is nothing to do for him.
Reply:absolutely just like a human when little kids loose there teeth so don't worry
Reply:Puppies lose their teeth at 4 to 4 1/2 months old. It is completely normal. You don't have to do anything unless an adult tooth is coming in behind a baby tooth or if that is causing pain. Your vet can help you if you think you might need some.
Reply:yes.
