Baby teeth & dentist,pls help!?

my daughter is 14 months, she's got seven teeth now. and the eighth is on the way. but i found out yesterday it is not in the right place. i am now worried. I haven't register her with a dentist. how to find a NHS dentist? is it totally free for children? pls give me some advice. thank you.

You need to get your daughter registered with a dentist as a matter of priority.


If you ring your NHS Direct or NHS24 depending on where you are, then they will give you details of the closest NHS dentists who are taking on patients and the will be able to tell you if this is free or not.


the english number is 08454647 and the scottish number is 08454242424.





I do think that it is free for children but only with NHS dentists.

Reply:call 211 if your are in CALI. my child is 18 month and probably had double that amount of teeth by 13 months. Yes please take her to the dentist cause the back teeth might have to be pulled like my daughters. Try Western Dental I believe they take children. Or look in yellow pages for a pediatric dentist.
Reply:Yes dental treatment is totally free for children, I'm presuming you're in the UK. If you go to your local surgery they should be able to give you a list of NSH dentists, or even ring a local dentist and they should be able to tell you if they are NHS or not.

Reply:Finding an NHS dentist practicaly anywhere in UK is almost impossible, however, some will take on children. NHS direct are unlikely to be able to find you a dentist. You will have a Dental Access Centre in your area if you look in your local paper it should be in there or try the phone book. NHS direct should be able to tell you the phone number of your nearest Dental Access Centre. They will only deal with emergencies but may class this as an emergency.


Yes dental treatment for children is free if you can find a dentist to do it!!


Try not to worry too much I'm sure it is something that is easily put right.

Reply:Nhs dentists are really hard to find at the moment. Best thing to do is go on the NHS direct website and they have listings of dentists in the area. can I ask how you know that this tooth is in the wrong place? Also don't forget that these teeth are her first teeth and will fall out and her proper teeth will come in, if it were me I wouldn't actually worry about it, they are still growing.
