5 year old has (adult?) teeth growing behind baby teeth, is this a serious matter?

Our 5 year old has not lost any teeth yet.





He has another set (two more) teeth growing behind his lower central incisors.





We will contact the dentist as soon as they open again, but may need to wait until Monday. Is this something serious that we should seek immediate support for?





What does this mean and what will the process of solving this involve?

I'VE SEEN THIS MANY, MANY TIMES. THIS MEANS THAT THOSE OTHER TEETH ARE THE ADULT TEETH ERUPTING, AND THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT. THE BABY TEETH OUGHT TO LOOSEN ON THEIR OWN. IF THE ADULT TEETH KEEP GROWING, AND THE BABY TEETH ARE STILL THERE, THEY SHOULD BE REMOVED TO ALLOW THE ADULT TEETH TO GROW FREELY. =O)
Reply:my cousin had this. do not worry. it simply means that their teeth are growing faster then they are falling out. over time, their baby teeth will fall out and the new adult teeth will come through.
Reply:not a serious problems but check with dentist because he must get extra growth that make him problem it future then you have go to doc and they will advice you to for brackets.same problem my daughter had.
Reply:Sometimes the permanent teeth come in faster than they lose their baby teeth and the baby teeth have to be removed.


Be sure and see your dentist.
Reply:Dont worry my dear. I also had the same problem with one of my teeth, although it was at the age of 12. The most likely case is that the new teeth coming out will push out the baby ones.


But that may not happen. Go to the dentist. Most likely he will remove the baby teeth that are in the way of the new ones. So then after it will have all the space to come up. Its not a serious matter at all. And dont worry, it wont hurt ur child to get the teeth removed, as they are baby teeth, they have no roots and are vey easy to take out. He probably would just spray a sedative on it and pull it out.
Reply:Yes, you need to visit with the dentist, but it isn't an emergency situation. For some reason my daughter had a real problem with losing her baby teeth. The roots just wouldn't dissolve and so they wouldn't loosen up and fall out. So every now and then she would have to have them pulled by the dentist. As long as your child has regular check-ups, the dentist should take care of any future problems.
Reply:I hope you will get to a good pediatric dentist. 5 is kinda early to loose teeth, but way early to be getting adult teeth. Also, if they want to do anything that you feel is remotly extream... get a 2nd opinion, It's is your baby and all! Good luck
Reply:It's not an emergency by any means. My rule of thumb is to let the permanent teeth come in "half the distance" to the biting edge of the lower front baby teeth before you worry about it. If they get beyond that height, it may be necessary to remove the baby teeth.

Reply:sorry to hear that.sounds like this is the beginning of your childs ugly development.sorry you have an ugly kid.what are you going to do when kids start teasing him?how does it make you feel to know your child is ugly?who's fault you or the guy who knocked you up?are you the ugly one or is he.maybe u both are unsightly.owell maybe he can get on disability.
