My 8-month old baby uses my dildo for a binky, but I always thought that binky's were bad for baby's teeth

Hi Y'all, I'm havin some parenting troubles i hope someone can help me with.





A few months ago I left my vibrater out on the floor of my bedroom (My boyfriend Lewis forgot to put it away). Anyway, I usually let my 8-month old baby, Brenda, crawl around the house and that day she found the vibrater and started using it as a binky. The problem is that whenever I take it away she fusses till the sun goes down! I guess I've just kind of relented to letting her have it.





It works great though when we're trying to put her to sleep because the when we turn it on, the soft vibrating puts her right to sleep. Lewis even suggested that the vibrater might even feel good and be soothing to her when she starts teething? But at the same time, I think I read in a baby book that binkys are bad for babies because it makes their teeth go all crooked.





Are there any other mothers out there that have had good or bad experiences with letting their child have a binky?

You have got to be kidding me. This cannot be a real question. If this is a legitamite question, you just proved to me that some people in society should be stopped from being able to procreate. You wonder why so many people in society are messed up.

Reply:that's pretty disgusting,there are plenty of toys out there that vibrates for children to play with.if you are letting your child put a used vibrater in his/her mouth you need some professional help!

Pacifiers, however, are fine for babies' teeth. I had one until I was like five and my teeth are perfect. Actually, it's better to give your child a pacifier, which you can take away when they get older, as they're less likely to start sucking their thumb, which is a much harder habbit to break.
Reply:Pacifiers are fine for kids to suck on because they are shaped so it hits the roof of their mouths, it's worse for a child to suck their thumb then use a pacifier. For one thing the paci you can throw away, the thumb you can't. If she's teething there are teething toys for that.
Reply:Well a binky might be bad for a baby but it's better than a dilldo! that is just wrong in som many ways. Let the kid have a binki and hide the dildo where she can never find it.

Reply:Please tell me you are joking, that is the nastiest story i have heard, was it washed and disinfected before the baby touched it? please buy that child something soft and sanitary that vibrates. At least you can take it with you to the mall or doctor or anywhere!


Binkies are fine i have 3 children -9,10,20 two or them wanted a binky - i believe binkies and sucking your thumb until all your teeth come in is what is damaging. with 10 years of daycare teaching experience i think all binkies should be slowly taken away between 1 or 1 1/2 years of age NO LONGER!!!!!

I can't help much but when my daughter was that age she also got hooked on a teething ring. What we did was give her a small teddy bear and that helped her forget the teething ring. Problem with that was she just held the bear and used her thumb.





The vibration sounds good but she will get use to it and she may not want to give up the vibrator until shes 80 years old...if then.
