How do you clean your baby's teeth?

My beautiful :) 9 month old baby girl got her two bottom teeth 2 weeks ago. How am I supossed to clean them? Do I brush them (I know I can't use toothpaste) or sweep them with gauze or a cotton? or do I leave them alone? Thanks!

How do you clean your baby's teeth?
i ask my doctor that question too, she told me best thing to wipe them with the cloth untill the baby have about 4 to 8 teeth then brush it twice a day with the Floide free

my daughter have 2 teeth on the bottom too.. shes 10 month old
Reply:Gerber has toothpaste which is floride free. It comes with a rubber finger cover that you use and gently wipe her teeth and gums.
Reply:you can get infant tooth and gum cleansers, its a special form of toothpaste without fluoride, so its safe for babies 3 months and up, and they come with little toothbrushes, or these little brushes you slip over your finger and use. gerber makes a really nice one that my daughter likes.
Reply:you can get one of those finger brushes that is in the baby section in the grocery store or they do have little tooth brushes OR you can just use a wet wash cloth and just kinda scrub/wash them off. just using plain water is good enough for now, but i would suggest you get he in the habit of having her teeth brushed so she won't freak out later.
Reply:i'm a mother of a 21 yr old daugther.i got it from my mom. you use Q-tips to clean them with. and it works.
Reply:My baby is 9 months old with 2 teeth too. My dad is a dentist (and neither my sister or I have ever had a filling or tooth problem in our life!), and he said to use a special baby toothbrush, which i bought in Tesco and their own special kids toothpaste! So thats my advice
Reply:Use fluoride free toothpaste and an infant tooth brush. One tip that I've read that works for my 10 month old daughter (only has two bottom teeth as well) is to put a little toothpaste on the infant tooth brush, give it to the child, let them chew on it and put it in their mouth for a couple minutes. When they are done, brush the teeth... you don't need to add additional toothpaste. This helps get them used to the toothbrush, especially when it's just a couple of teeth. I've seen some pamphlets recommend laying the baby down, to ensure that you can effectively clean all sides of the teeth, but that's usually when they have several more. If you start off getting them used to the toothbrush and that it's not an unpleasant experience, then it will be easier when they get more and when it becomes more important.

Best wishes!
