Would you wait before extracting some baby teeth?

My son has 4 baby teeth that need to be extracted according to his dentist. The funny thing is, three are extremely loose now. I have decided to wait a few months to see if my son can pull them out himself. One is hanging on by a thread. Can you believe they want me to pay them over $200 to pull loose baby teeth? Would you wait like me or would you have went ahead and paid for them to extract immediately?

Feed him lots of apples and keep wiggling, let nature take its course. Save your money, that%26#039;s a ridiculous amount to pay a greedy dentist.
Reply:It would depend on why they seem to think they need to be pulled so quickly. But yes, I agree I would wait and let them come out on their own.

Reply:Money wise I would let them just fall out.. or do like my dad does.. tie a string to the tooth and then tie the string to a door knob and then slam the door..

Reply:Sometimes with baby teeth the roots may not be resorbing like they should,(dissolving) so making sure all the roots are taken out even if the tooth is loose can be a concern. If you question your regular dentist, get a second opinion. Sometimes yes, just waiting a little longer in not necessarily a bad thing, but it should be something you discuss with your General Dentist and Orthodontist just to make sure.
