When you get braces, does all of your baby teeth have to be gone?

You see, my teeth are really bad and crooked. I have lost all my baby teeth except my other baby teeth that are all molars but i have lost some molars that are now permanent. I really need braces bad! And im already 12. Do you think I can get braces now or wait one more year?

Please help. Serious answers please. Thanks!!

When you get braces, does all of your baby teeth have to be gone?
I got mine on and got my wisdom teeth removed 8 months later...

but those are your 3rd molars and I%26#039;m thinking that it would be better if you wait for all your molars to fall out except for your wisdom teeth(in the very back of your mouth)

you COULD just do a small segment of braces on your front teeth between both of your 1st molars...

but I think you would need something like your molars for your main braces wire to anchor to...

BEST DECISION:

ask your orthodontist...
Reply:i had braces when i was 5 because i had an adult sized jaw so i had to have my jaw like broken down to normal size

so to answer your question...as far as i know you can still have baby teeth and get braces
Reply:No. The newer research shows that it%26#039;s actually better to get braces sooner, while you still have some baby teeth. Get this checked out now, while your teeth are easier to manipulate and before you lose your last baby teeth.
Reply:This is something you should talk to your dentist about. From personal experience you do have to loose all your baby teeth before you can get braces. I had braces in the 4th grade but that is because my dentist pulled a majority of my teeth out because of the fact that my mouth was too small. I also had to get 4 permanent teeth pulled. It sounds like you will be able to get them soon just talk to your dentist.
Reply:No but they might have to pull teeth out.
