Do I need to start thinking about taking her to the dentist to see if the baby teeth need to removed?

My rule of thumb is to let the permanent teeth come in %26quot;half the distance%26quot; to the biting edge of the lower front baby teeth before you worry about it. If they get beyond that height, it may be necessary to remove the baby teeth.

Reply:A child should start going to the Dentist by age two. Take her to the dentist; they may choose to remove them which is very easy. They can come out very easily. My daughter went at age two received fluoride treatments and at 35 she has beautiful pearly whites and no cavities. She is still in the habit of going twice a year for a check-up and a cleaning.
Reply:My son had the same problem. If the baby tooth is loose try to wiggle it out (they don%26#039;t have roots). If it won%26#039;t wiggle the dentist will remove it for you. If you get the baby tooth out before the permanent tooth completely comes in the permanent tooth will shift to the proper position in a couple weeks

as long as the permanent central incisors aren%26#039;t coming in behind them - then you shouldn%26#039;t worry at all - sequencing of permanent tooth eruption varies from kid to kid


if you DO see the new permanent teeth erupting behind them - then call your dentist


he/she may have to help extract/take out the retained tooth
