I still have baby teeth for my canine teeth. i want t do something about it. should i get veneers?

or would you suggest other methods or something. how much would you think veneers would cost?

I still have baby teeth for my canine teeth. i want t do something about it. should i get veneers?
I have a veneer on one of my baby teeth in the front of my mouth. I am over 40 and still have 3 baby teeth with no permanent teeth underneath. You want to hang on to the real tooth as long as you can so go with a veneer. My veneer was around $120, but it really depends on a lot of factors. A veneer on an existing tooth is a lot cheaper than a cap or replacement fake tooth.
Reply:not exactly sure but my brother had the same problem and hes 35 had to have a lot of surgery i dont know if age makes a difference.my brother didn't have to pay for the extensive treatment he had but it was very expensive.

Does having your baby teeth pulled affect your adult teeth?

my daught€r r€c€ntly had t€€th pull€d and i was wond€ring if it aff€ct€d th€ straightn€ss of h€r t€€th

Does having your baby teeth pulled affect your adult teeth?
wow..weird writing. anyway, no it doesn't affect her adult teeth. never affected mine
Reply:yeah maybe it does
Reply:I doubt it. I only had one tooth pulled when I was younger though. Now I have all my adult teeth and they're straight and I've never had braces.
Reply:Yes, it does. It gives the permanent teeth more room so they can grow in straighter. There's no guarantee that she won't need braces in the future but I had to have teeth pulled for the same reason.
Reply:If you were advised to have them pulled i can not see there being a problem. If they were just pulled for no reason it might affect the spacing when it comes to future teeth. But that again is not a big problem as that can be fixed with retainers and such.
Reply:you don't say why she had them pulled or how old she is. if she's old enough and ready for permanent teeth, it won't hurt them at all. the baby teeth have to leave to make room for the adult teeth.
Reply:supposedly, it won't affect adult teeth at all.
Reply:Absolutely, there is a reason the baby teeth erupt in a certain order and a reason they fall out in a certain order. If a baby tooth is pulled to early then the baby teeth with shift to fill in that missing space. You can put a spacer in there to hold that space unitl the permanent tooth comes in. But the shifting will cause more problems. For example, no one wants to fix baby teeth because they fall out but if you do not replace a missing baby tooth with a spacer the permanent teeth can not erupt properly if they are shifting and this will result in 5000 braces and even jaw problems or wearing of the teeth.
Reply:shouldn't but if the teeth are close together they'll grow in crooked

Do dogs have baby teeth like humans and then when they fall out they grow an adult pair of teeth?

Yes, puppies have 28 deciduous (temporary) teeth and 42 permanent teeth. Puppies have no teeth at birth, and grow deciduous teeth beginning their second week of life. At three months of age, the deciduous teeth begin to be replaced by the permanent teeth.

The replacement process begins with the incisors, and moves backwards through the canines, premolars and finally the molars. The turnover process is usually complete by the time the dog is eight months old, with none of the original 28 deciduous teeth remaining. Most deciduous teeth are swallowed with food and never seen by the pet owner. Occasionally, a deciduous tooth is merely pushed to the side and retained next to the permanent tooth. Retained deciduous teeth can be removed by a veterinarian.

The incisors turn over from deciduous to permanent from two to four months of age. The canines usually convert around six months of age. The premolars and molars follow in that order, with the last permanent molar erupting around eight months of age.

The exact schedule does vary from breed to breed.

Do dogs have baby teeth like humans and then when they fall out they grow an adult pair of teeth?
You're very welcome and thank you for picking my answer.

If you're lucky, you might be able to fine one or two to put in a puppy scrapbook like I did :-) Report It

Hope i answered your ? :D
Reply:Yes dogs have baby teeth and they fall out anywhere from 3 to 6 months of age, being replaced by adult teeth, I have two dogs that kept baby teeth and the adult teeth fused to them so the baby teeth had to be pulled.
Reply:Yeah duh! They have sharp puppy teeth and then once those fall out, their adult teeth come in. Do you really think adult teeth would really fit in a small puppy's mouth!
Reply:yep, they sure do.and they need dental care too.ask your vet about that,as you can brush their teeth with special doggy paste.can also buy mouth rinse to add to water.
Reply:yes
Reply:yep! Then they get Grown up teeth like we do.
Reply:affirmative!
Reply:Yes. It is a real good idea to keep an eye when the adult teeth start cutting to make sure the baby teeth are falling out. Just like kids, the baby tooth may not come out and create a problem.
Reply:yes, I have a Bulldog named Muggs and when his baby teeth fell out they were so little, he was around 8 weeks old, he was young when he started losing them, I would find them on the floor.

Hope this helps!

Oh and yes, Adult teeth then replace the baby teeth....*smile*

is your puppy losing teeth?
Reply:Yes puppies have 28 baby teeth and adults have 42.
Reply:yes they do.
Reply:Yes they do have baby teeth and they do get in adult teeth.

Some breeds do retain baby teeth and need them extracted though.
Reply:yes but sometimes they lose them in the yard so you may not notice all of them coming out, however if you look in your dogs mouth you probably cant really tell because in the wild they need to eat os they grow back very fast.

Do pangolins have "baby teeth" that they loose and get adult teeth?

Tricky! I don't think Pangolins have baby teeth or any teeth for that matter since they are anteaters.

Do pangolins have "baby teeth" that they loose and get adult teeth?
Pangolins are mammals with very ODD hair that look like plates, but mammal nonetheless, so as mammals, they would seem to have two sets of teeth like other mammals: the baby-deciduous teeth and the adult permanent teeth, but they actually lack teeth!

See info below

The pangolin (also called the scaly anteater) is an unusual mammal that is covered with tough, protective scales made of keratin (the same substance that hair, fingernails, and horn are made from). There are 7 species of pangolins that live in grasslands and forests in parts of Africa and Southeast Asia (Genus Manis). The pangolin lives up to 14 years in captivity.

Anatomy: The pangolin has scales that cover everything except the belly, snout, eyes, ears, and undersides of the limbs. The pangolin has short legs with huge claws; it uses its claws to dig into ant hills and termite mounds. The sticky tongue is up to 27 inches (70 cm) long. The pangolin ranges from 24-62 inches (60-160 cm) long. The pangolin has no teeth. The long tail is prehensile (grasping); the pangolin can even hang from its tail.

Diet: This insectivore (insect-eater) uses its long, sticky tongue to catch ants, termites, and other insects. It hunts mostly at night; it is a nocturnal animal.

Predators: When in danger, the pangolin curls into a ball, protecting its soft belly and face. It may also hit an enemy with its tail or spray it with urine. Its enemies include lions, tigers, and humans.
Reply:As near as I can tell from the scientific literature, Pangolin have no teeth at any stage of their development.

Baby teeth that do not fall out naturally?

I'm 26 and have 2 baby teeth that haven't fallen out. One of the teeth does not have a permanent tooth in place for it, so if it's pulled, there's no permanent tooth there to grow in (congenitally missing tooth). My other problem is that my permanent canine grew in through my gums over my baby canine that has never fallen out. I will have the baby tooth pulled, and braces to correct the problem in a few years, when I can hopefully afford it.

From what I've read, baby teeth not falling out isn't really an extremely common problem, but it does happen. Some people's baby teeth last them into old age, if they take very good care of them, but that's not very common. If there's a permanent tooth there, showed by a pan-x, then the baby tooth should probably be pulled to allow the permanent tooth to grow in.

Baby teeth that do not fall out naturally?
Need to be pulled in order for adult teeth to grow in. Adult teeth are probably in place up in the gums waiting for their chance.
Reply:If the adult tooth is already growing in and the baby tooth is in the way, then the adult tooth may end up in a crooked position. If the baby tooth is wiggly, you could probably remove it yourself. If not, see a dentist.

How old is the child? Some kids may have delayed exfoliation of baby teeth.

Also, it is possible that the baby tooth does not have a permanent tooth growing in behind it, so in some cases you may have to leave the baby tooth there. But, it's best to go to the dentist and have x-rays to find out for sure!
Reply:If the tooth hasnt fallen out DO NOT MAKE IT FALL OUT. Baby teeth fall out when the adult teeth PUSH it out as the adult tooth erupts (come up from under the gumline). If the baby tooth doesnt fall out then that could mean there is NO adult tooth underneath. It is seen on an xray where there is an adult tooth underneath the baby tooth or not. Consult a dentist.

Baby teeth bust lip open???

Our son who is 11 months fell over at the park and bust the top of his lip open blood flow has stopped but it is swollen and looks sore altho he isnt complaining. Is there anything extra we can do for him, I have a doctors appointment tomorrow as its night time here now. It was soo scary.

Baby teeth bust lip open???
This is very common. Baby teeth are very sharp! And any facial wound bleeds a lot. The swelling is also normal. Putting cold cloths on it wit help. But trust me. If he is not complaining it is ok. Babies are not shy with not feeling well.
Reply:He will be fine where the bleeding has stopped. My boys have all done this before. IB profin will help with the swelling and ice if he will let you. I'm sure the Dr. will tell you the same thing. Your a good mommy, we tend to let it scare us more than it does them.

Baby teeth are comeing looks like there comeing from the front of gums?
my kids got teeth really early as well that sounds pretty normal to me but sometimes babies get teeth coming through and then they go back up and then keep doing that for a while. but i know both of my kids did that for a while before cutting a tooth good luck and congrats on baby by the way
Reply:my daughters came in at 41/2 months.

There have been very rare cases of the baby being born with some teeth.
Reply:They always look like they're coming through the front at first..and then they end up looking right. Every tooth my daughter gets I'm like 'oh my god, it's coming the front' and they've all come in straight.

12 weeks isn't too early..some kids just get them at different times..my daughter is 22 months and even has her 2 year molars and her eye teeth just started coming in this month.

Why are baby teeth whiter than adult teeth?

Dentin makes up the main portion of the tooth structure. In primary teeth, it's very light yellow - almost white so that it doesn't show as much through the translucent white enamel. In permanent teeth, it is a light yellow and commonly darkens with age. It also takes up more tooth structure in an adult tooth than a baby tooth. The enamel remains translucent - you just see the dentin underneath. The darker the dentin, the more yellow your teeth are.

Why are baby teeth whiter than adult teeth?
Well, for one thing, they are newer. They haven't been exposed to all the things that stain adult teeth.
Reply:No coffee, no tea, no chocolate, no blueberries, no red wine...
Reply:the teeth are kind of like crystals. It takes time for chemicles to get into them and change teh colors. Plus not to many babies are out drinking huge amounts of coffee, sodas, or smoking cigarettes.
Reply:cuz they are brand spankin new
Reply:Depends what food you eat - if you smoke..

If you ate as healthily as a baby, then they would be just like baby teeth.
Reply:I'm a dentist.

Less dentin underneath the enamel. Enamel is actually translucent white. It's the dentin beneath that makes your teeth have a yellow hue.

Are canine teeth baby teeth?

We have two sets of canine (or eye) teeth, one primary (or baby) and one permanent (or adult). Of course if you are talking canine as in dog teeth they too have primary and permanent teeth!

Are canine teeth baby teeth?
they are before you loose them. When a kid is about 10-12 they loose them and they grow in adult teeth.

Chihuahua has his adult teeth, one baby tooth failed to fall out. Is this a health issue?

He is 7 months old and is healthy but I wondered whether I need to have this tooth pulled or if its okay to stay where it is.

Chihuahua has his adult teeth, one baby tooth failed to fall out. Is this a health issue?
Give it some more time. If it doesn't fall out ask your vet about it. Sometimes they do need to remove the teeth if it's causing or has the potential to cause problems. It can be done when your little guy is neutered if it doesn't fall out on it's own by then. My youngest cat had to have one of her baby teeth pulled when she got spayed. It's a pretty common thing. Good luck!
Reply:Give it more time. It may take another month or so for it to fall out. My puppy had all of his adult teeth in, except one. His last baby tooth fell about about 3 weeks later. Sometimes an adult tooth will come in before the baby tooth falls out. It looks kind of weird, a big tooth with a little baby tooth beside it; but it's nothing to worry about. It'll fall out eventually.
Reply:i'm going to assume its a fang tooth..... give it a few weeks feed her the normal hard food it might fall out on its own... if not your vet will need to pull it.
Reply:no i do not think has anything to do with his health but what you should do is take it to the vet and ask them what is wrong.
Reply:It is about time for you puppy to get a booster vaccine and a mid year check up. Have the vet take a look and see what he says.
Reply:no it's not we have a chiuaua and it still has some of his babby teeth and he is full grone
Reply:my min pin had the same thing happen, his two fangs (top) were in , %26amp; the baby fangs were right behind the adult ones, he looked very funny, but i looked one day %26amp; they were gone, had no problems.
Reply:he has just recently got his adult teeth. If it is a eye tooth or a vang, as the adaut tooth comes in it will push it out. Buy him a soup boan at the supermarket to give him something to chew on. If the tooth doesn't come out by the time the pup is one year old, have the vet check it out.
Reply:no because there is no specific time that says he has to get them.
Reply:most likely its a moler the main food crunching tooth. these take a month or two longer to fall out than the others.(dont give ur dogs hot food makes their teeth fall out)
Reply:It has been my experience that when you spay or neuter your dog at 6 months old, if the adult canine teeth are in and the baby canines remain, they should be extracted. I would certainly discuss this with your vet.
Reply:I also have a chihuahua %26amp; one of her baby teeth did not fall out. When I took her to be spayed they pulled her tooth. That way they only had to put her to sleep once. The vet told me if it wasn't pulled it could cause problems in the long run. Good Luck and take your little man to the vet.
Reply:PULL IT!!!

It'll ROT **%26amp;** cause problems w/the spacing of the adult teeth!!!

*NOT* ok to leave it!

Can a 28 year old still have baby teeth and when one is lost can another 1 grow in there?
Without being a dentist, I can tell you its possible to have baby teeth at 28, but no an adult teeth wont grow, you would need a new tooth screwed in at the dentist (I've forgotten the name of it)
Reply:yes as a 28 year you can have baby teeth but not common and no you will not have new ones come out. most likely those are the only teeth you get the best thing to do is see a dentist and the dentist will take an x-ray on you thats called a PANO there you will see what you have in your mouth after you baby teeth fall out and if they do you will need a dencher or implants

Do only humans lose baby teeth and grow adult ones? Dogs, Monkeys, etc...do they lose baby teeth?

All mammals have two sets of teeth. The milk teeth and their adult teeth, it's one of the defining characteristics of our genera. Outside of hair, milk and our ear bones.

It's the price of having specialized teeth, all other vertibrates with teeth have an unlimited capacity to regrow their teeth. Their teeth are just variations on a cone shape though. No specialized crinders and cutters or chisels.

Do only humans lose baby teeth and grow adult ones? Dogs, Monkeys, etc...do they lose baby teeth?
YES - only sharks don't
Reply:Most animals loose baby teeth. Dogs and cats usualy swallow them.
Reply:They almost all do, some have and infinite set of teeth always available to cover the lost ones
Reply:Dogs definitely do. and monkeys presumably so. Anything with teeth when little has to get adult teeth later, because teeth do not grow.
Reply:I know for sure dogs do, I have found several from my puppies.

I gather the same goes for cats and other animals.
Reply:Almost all animals with teeth have both baby and adult teeth.
Reply:I dunno about Monkeys, but puppies do. They usually swallow them, but I am sure if you look really hard you may find one in their food or something.

Is it normal for a12 months old baby to not have ant teeth.?

Is it normal for a12 months old baby to not have ant teeth.?
Some children do get their teeth earlier then 12 months but some much later then that 24 months. You and your niece and niece friend have no thing to worry about. It may be a good thing ( bottle nipple are not getting bit and hole in them)
Reply:Yes it is possible. sometimes people start early and others later. If she is bringing her child to the DR for well visits and the Dr is not worried then I wouldn't worry. The longer the better since the teeth are not exposed to cavity causing germs.
Reply:He will get teeth eventually.
Reply:all babies develope at a different speed no one baby is alike

has the child been taken to the dentist yet
Reply:It's all genetics. Me and my siblings didn't have teeth until after 12 months. We were also the last ones to lose our baby teeth. There's a huge range in whats normal.

That's not true. No matter what the sex, babies get baby teeth.
Reply:.... they dont. every single baby gets baby teeth first, loses them and then the permanent ones grow in.
Reply:That completely and utterly false. All babies get baby teeth first, even if they're born with teeth.

All babies have milk teeth first.

Then adult teeth.

Do puppys lose they're baby teeth? Do they even have baby teeth?

I noticed blood on my new puppy's toy while playing with her. I looked at it and it looks like she may have lost a tooth. Is this normal?

Do puppys lose they're baby teeth? Do they even have baby teeth?
yes they do have baby teeth, and yes they lose them. they usually swallow them but sometimes you find them laying around
Reply:Yes, it's totally normal.. Like humans, puppies have baby teeth and they will loose them when their permanent teeth start growing in.
Reply:It is normal.
Reply:Yes it is. Just like us, dogs have baby teeth and will lose them. Nothing to worry about at all. :)
Reply:yeah they are like little babys they will lose there baby teeth
Reply:yes they change their teeth
Reply:yes they do....when my puppy first started losing his i freaked out...i thought he had broken it or something..but when i called the vet and asked about it he said it was perfectly natural
Reply:yup they do! Most of the time you wont find them or even realize they fell out. Make sure to give your new puppy lots of chew toys to help with his teething!
Reply:Yes, pups lose their puppy teeth. This generally goes from 4-6 months old. This is the teething phase, where they want to chew on everything. Usually you don't even see the teeth because they swallow them when they fall out, but when playing with toys they will sometimes come out and fall on the ground. It's normal, and there is no need to worry!
Reply:canines most definitly are born with a set of teeth which later on are replaced with adulthood ones. like humans they are overgrown by the older pairs and eventually fall off.
Reply:Puppies do lose their baby teeth.
Reply:Yes they alll lose there baby teeth! It is natural! Don't play tug a war when she has loose teethe! Any more questions please Email me at Pugglewlover1207@GMAil.com
Reply:Yes they do, but why didn't you do some research and learn about dogs before owning one?
Reply:yes this is normal, i have pitbull and no to long ago he was loosing his teeth left and right i even found one on the floor, but then i looked in his mouth and seen some bigger teeth coming right in. don't worry, and when you see bleeding take it's toy away for a few minutes, just till the bleeding stops then give it back because it's teething. good luck!
Reply:Yeah, it's perfectly normal. When puppies start chewing on things (you'll be surprised how creative they can get, 2 of my dogs chewed into the sheet rock of the walls), they're teething (the pain of new teeth coming in if I remember right). Start buying toys for them to chew on to break bad habits early on. You'll just have to try to see what's best, soft plastic toys (like balls) are probably best.
Reply:Puppies do have baby teeth. They have 28 baby teeth between three and six weeks of age. They lost those teeth when they are around four months old. There is some variation in breed but most have 42 adult teeth, with the molars coming in last at about six - seven months old.
Reply:Yes they do ,Usually they just swallow them
Reply:Yes, they have baby teeth. The adult teeth begin coming in at about 4 months with the incisors, and continue up to about 7 or 8 months for the last molars. It's the reason most chewing problems begin to occur in this time period. Make sue she has plenty of "legal" toys to chew on or she will find things to gnaw on that you might not appreciate having chewed!
Reply:Yes they have puppy teeth and will start to lose them around 4 months of age. Keep an eye on them because sometimes they will not lose one or two puppy teeth and the adult teeth will have a hard time coming in. If that happens they may need to have the tooth extracted by the vet. It is safe to use some baby teething gel on their gums while they are teething if they seem to be in a lot of pain..use a small amount and rub it on the gums. Providing some hard rubber bones with bumps on them with help with the teething stage also by encouraging those puppy teeth to loosen up and come out.
Reply:yes..i had never thought about it until my dog lost his and i've actually found some...
Reply:As you can tell by all the replies they do have baby teeth. Then why am I typing my fat fingers to the bone? Nobody warned you about the teeth falling on the floor and you stepping on them. Lets just say my kids learned a couple of new words the first time I stepped on one. Good luck!
Reply:Absolutely normal. They usually fall out while they are eating, and you never even see the missing teeth. You have nothing to worry about--Your Puppy is growing up---CONGRATULATIONS..

When do babies teeth? my baby is over 7 months and she has no teeth..?

it depends..some teeth at 3 months which seems to early and some teeth at 8 months which seems late... you never know she could get more teeth at once ... they say that is better because you dont have to go through the teething cycle as many times...also i have heard salty product harder the gums and it makes it harder for teeth to come in

When do babies teeth? my baby is over 7 months and she has no teeth..?
Every baby develops in their own time. My kids didn't get teeth till like 9 months. Just be patient.
Reply:they should be getting teeth between 6 and 12 months so she still has alot of time
Reply:relax, are you waiting for the all night crying !

it will come and you;ll be wishing it hadn;t.
Reply:Don't worry, your baby's teeth will come through in their own time. My daughter just had one tooth at the top front for ages but now she has all she needs!

Ask your health visitor if you are really concerned - they are the experts.
Reply:My friend has a baby his first tooth started coming in at about 9 maybe 10 months he's now 11 1/2 months he has alot of teeth so they come in fast once you see the first one.Same as when he learns to crawl once he gets started he crawls everywhere he'll be walking soon.
Reply:my first baby had her teeth when she was 5.5 months but my second baby, she is now 6 months havent got teeths, so its normal and depends on child to child, so nothing to worry about
Reply:my baby is 11 month, she got a teeth at 9 month only.u wait for few months.
Reply:do,nt worry
Reply:generally after 1 year
Reply:it differs for all kids mine is 14 monthes and has only 6...
Reply:I have two kids and they both started teething around 3 months. They both had 2 bottom teeth by 5 months. Teething can take up to three months before a tooth is visible.

The symptoms are of course saliva everywhere, and constantly dribbling. Turn off milk %26amp; food if they are older. Crying at night and during the day cause of the pain.

I have friends whose kids were around 15 months when they had their frist tooth. Don't stress it's not an issue. So many mothers put pressure on themselves if their children don't do things by a certain time. Mothers are also competitive. In our street mothers toilet trained their kids from 6 months so their child would be first etc.. same with walking and talking.

If your child is happy and healthy they will develop when they are ready. Just be patient.
Reply:first be patiant they start any where from 4 months to a year
Reply:Some babies are born with teeth, and some don't get them until they are over a year! Average age is 6-8 months but it varies quite a bit.

If your baby is otherwise healthy she will get teeth. There are some EXTREMELY RARE conditions which can result in never getting teeth, but they are associated with other birth defects which would be present already.

If a baby doesn't have teeth by 18 months we will sometimes refer them for X-rays just to make sure that teeth exist, but nothing you have to worry about now.
Reply:It varies. Both of my children were over a year before their teeth came in. They have strong teeth and never a cavity and are both teenagers now. They do have the tendency to lose them later also.
Reply:It differs for each child. I asked my daughter's pediatrition about why some kinds walk before others and talk before others, etc. He said the way he likes to describe this phenomenon to the parents is this:

Babies bodies seem to concentrate really hard on one thing at a time. That means that one child may talk at 6 months, but not walk until after a year old. Their bodies want to master one task before they move to another.

My daughter did not have any teeth until one years old, but she was already walking and talking just fine. Don't ever try to compare your kids to someone else's kids because you will just make yourself worried.

I've seen babies with teeth at 4 months, so it really does differ from child to child.

When baby teeth come in do they come in pairs?

my 8 month old got her first tooth on thanksgiving, but my mom said she should of had two, is this true?

When baby teeth come in do they come in pairs?
My children's teeth came out one by one. Each child is different. My children "sprouted" 7 teeth (4 on top 3 on bottom) then waited a couple months before getting the rest. Don't worry about it.

Following is from "What To Expect The First Year"

For one child it may be a long, drawn out affair for another it may seem to pass with a single wave of the wand in the middle of a restful night.

On the average the first TOOTH arrives sometime during the seventh month (or as early as the 3rd month or as late as the 12th month).

Reply:No. they pop out all over the place.
Reply:No, that is not true.
Reply:NO THEY CAN COME ANYTIME, EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT
Reply:My son got his first tooth at 5 months and the second at 6 months and he had 3 teeth, one on bottom and 2 on top till he was a year old. Wivestales! Every child is different.
Reply:It's not exactly pairs. Generally one side will show up shortly before it's opposite comes in. They will get two then take a break get the next two and so on. After the first eight fronts get in they'll get a set of molars so there'll be a small gap tat's normal too and will fill in shortly.
Reply:Teeth usually come a few days apart. I wouldn;t worry about it too much. worry more about the pain she's in (and the sleepless nights you'r having) as she cuts her teeth.
Reply:not most the time. they normally come in one at a time.
Reply:Usually the first baby teeth to come into the mouth are the two bottom front teeth. They begin to appear when your child is about 6 to 8 months old. They are followed by the 4 upper front teeth. The remainder of your baby’s teeth will appear periodically, usually in pairs on each side of the jaw, until the child is about 2 1/2 years old.

By the time your child is 2 ½ years old, all 20 baby teeth will most likely have come in. From this point until the child is 5 to 6 years of age, his/her first permanent teeth will begin to erupt. Some of the permanent teeth replace baby teeth, others don't.

The following picture shows approximately when each baby tooth should erupt. Do not worry if some teeth are a few months early or late. Every child is different.

What age does baby teeth STOP falling out, my daughter is almost nine years old and her tooth is loose?

She will look just like Amy Winehouse when this tooth goes. http://lightscameracaption.files.wordpre...

What age does baby teeth STOP falling out, my daughter is almost nine years old and her tooth is loose?
It varies between people - i had a friend who didn't loose her last tooth until she was 13! 9 could actually be considered early to still be losing teeth. The average age is 11-12 years

if you're curios, take a look at this site http://www.dentalcare.com/soap/patient/e...
Reply:About 10 years old.
Reply:oh you got a while. about 2 or 3 more years.
Reply:10 or 11. for some people, it takes longer. everyone is different
Reply:idk it could be different for everyone, i didnt lose my last babytooth until i was like 11 so i dont think you should worry.
Reply:last tooth should be 11-13
Reply:I'm 13 and I only have 1 more tooth to lose. That may seem old but my sister didn't lose her last one until she was 15. Some people lose them earlier or later. Yeah, around 10-13 years old. It all depends. People lose them at different rates, so you can never really tell.
Reply:i didnt lose all mine till i was 14, and i still had 4 pulled to get braces
Reply:My children both had to have 5 baby teeth pulled at the age of 13 to get their mouths ready for braces. Who knows how long their baby teeth would have stayed?

Bad thing that I heard was there is no correlation on how long you have your baby teeth and how long that you will have your permanent teeth.
Reply:mine stopped when i was 10
Reply:my nephew is 11 and he still has a couple of baby teeth left
Reply:they stop at 12. some baby teeth are stubborn and dont loosen. then its time for the dentist to get involved

Baby teeth injury question...will he have to have it pulled? His gums look so bad...?

My son (3-1/2) fell why running to use the potty. He fell face first onto the cermanic title floor.

I got a really good look last night, and one tooth is pushed back toward the back the mouth and twisted just a little. The dentist told use to keep an eye on it.

Do you think will have to be pulled?

What concerns me is that his gums look like he has really bad road rash...or someone took a file to them...they are scabbed over and just look awful!

Should I be concerned about his gums too?

If the doctor says to just keep an eye on it, then it cannot be TOO bad. My 2 year old son fell off of his booster seat and jammed one of his teeth halfway back into his gums, and they looked horrible for about two weeks. He is fine now, with no real dental problems. Just give your son some time. Kids are amazingly resilient. Good luck.

Well, my little brother had almost the same thing happened to him. He fell and his four front baby teeth got pushed in, rootswhere stuck in teh gums and all different stuff like that The solution was to pull them.. and he got crowns on his 4 teeth in teh back. He was either 4 or 5. SO i think your son might have to have them pulled.. depending on the situation and state they are in.
Reply:My son is only 13 months, but last month he fell and scraped the tar out of his gums and I was scared to death. It was so bruised and looked horrible! The mouth heals faster than any other part of the body, though. The bruise was gone within 3 days. His tooth wasn't loose from it though, so I can't give you any advice on that one except what the dentist said - keep a close eye on it. Maybe try to touch it and see if it wiggles in the gums at all, just to make sure it isn't serious loose and may fall out and pose a choking hazard.

Hope your baby is okay!
Reply:The gums will heal, the mouth heals faster and better than any other part of the body.

As for the tooth only time will tell if there is root damage, if there is root damage it will have to be pulled. If the tooth is pulled you will then have to decide if it is worth replacing the tooth or just waiting. If you wait there is a chance that the other teeth will move and crowd the space which can cause problems with the adult teeth. Missing a tooth can sometimes effect the child's self-esteem as well. However I think around age 4 it is usually considered safe to leave a missing front tooth.

Baby teeth...how long are they loose?

My 4 year old daughter has her first loose tooth. How long before it will fall out?

Baby teeth...how long are they loose?
she s perfectly normal baby teeth go out from 4 to 6 years
Reply:I always had my parents pull it for me after 2 or 3 days
Reply:My daughter is also 4 with a loose tooth. The dentist said while it is uncommon (not impossible) for them to lose teeth that young, it is not uncommon for a loose tooth or two. She told my that it could stay loose and not fall out for a year or two. As long as proper hygine is used and you don't make an effort to pull it out, everything is fine.
Reply:Sometimes when i was younger i would just keep moving back and forth. Or one of my parent's would pull it with a piece of floss, it only hurt for a few seconds.

How to save baby teeth...?

My 6 year old lost his first tooth tonight! We're both really excited and the tooth fairy has already come and taken the tooth. ;) What I want to know is: what is the best way to save this little tooth? Is that weird? I just can't bear to throw it away. Please help. Any experience you've had with this will be appreciated.

Aloha :)

How to save baby teeth...?
My little one lost hers at 4 1/2.....we stuck it in a little jar with the date that she lost it......its NOT weird.....at least in my opinion......they also have "fancy" jars that say "my first tooth" that you can purchase....and have their names engraved on them.
Reply:Sow it in soil while praying God. Report It

Reply:My mother actually always put my baby teeth in a special envelope and kept it in a safe place.

After I lost all my baby teeth, she sealed the envelope and put it in a box of baby things.

If you have a baby memory box, that would be a great place to store them.

Here is an example of one such keepsake box:

Hope this helps!
Reply:that is soooooooo darn cute!!!!! congratulations on that! my mom has mine in one of those tiny lil' zip lock bags,,, i don't know where to get one of those (since it was my dad's..... lol... it was the 70's) but you can use a small little box that jewelry comes in.. or a regular zip lock... there is no specific way to store it....
Reply:Just put it in a box.
Reply:the tooth fairy keeps them in a snap lock bag here with the date each tooth is lost written on
Reply:I got a container with a lid rom the dentist, to put under her pillow when she looses a tooth, I also got one for myself. I have put all of my daughters teeth in it. I keep it hidden away in a safe spot. It doesn't have to be huge. My mom used a discarded pill bottle she wrote on it with a permanent marker which child it belonged to. Anything you choose will work. The most important part is finding somewhere to put it where she won't discover it.
Reply:ok i have 2 kids and i'm the same way...only i saved all their (front only ) teeth....i have a jar that says my first tooth...more like an ornament...i keep the teeth in there...and in a safe place....it's to remember how small they were and say i remember that day....
Reply:I keep my son's baby teeth in a little jewelry box which once contained a bracelet. It's nicely padded with velvet and cotton. A ring box would work just as well. I wouldn't think of throwing my son's teeth away, either, although I had some explaining to do when he found the box with the teeth and said he thought the tooth fairy took them with her :-))
Reply:the first thing your do is steralize it and then you can get a baby food jar and put all the teeth that he loses in the jar. Be sure to steralize every single tooth( becuase you dont want it to smell) and hide it(becuase you dont him to find it and never believe in the tooth fairy again)
Reply:My son's is wrapped in tissue, in a little box I keep in my dresser. He's 15, and doesn't know I have it.
Reply:I just put my daughters in a little box, she has found it twice so I lied to her and said they were the dog's baby teeth, I don't think it is weird we waited a long time for those little teeth to come in!
Reply:Use an empty film canister. You can buy one of those fancy label markers to mark it with or simply use a piece of masking tape.

As an adult I was cleaning out and tried to throw out my baby teeth my mom had saved and she had a fit. She ended up keeping them at her house. I'm married now and starting my own family...lol
Reply:I don't think there are any wrong ways to save the teeth. My dad actually has all my baby teeth in an old advil bottle. lol It's not weird at all to want to keep the teeth, they are part of the memories of raising your son.

Is there a relationship between bathing a baby during a full moon and her teeth eruption?

they said that there is a connection like a force of gravity. Baby's tooth will have a hard time erupting if you bathe them during lunar days.

Is there a relationship between bathing a baby during a full moon and her teeth eruption?
This is the science section sweetheart, not fantasy. Not to be a jerk, but what possible effect will being in water have during a full moon?

And the moon's gravity is pulling equally on all parts of the baby. Not just the teeth.

Every child is different. My girls' had about 4 at 9 months, but my sister's twins didn't get any until about 10 months.

What will i do so that my 1yr old baby's teeth will erupt?

she has no tooth yet. my neighbors' babies about her age have 2 or more teeth now.

What will i do so that my 1yr old baby's teeth will erupt?
Every baby is DIFFERENT, your baby may do something the other baby cant yet, all babies have their time and hers just hasnt came yet!
Reply:my baby is the oldest 11 months and he only has two. my 4 year old didnt get teeth till 1 1/2 yrs old so i just give teething rings even though dad's old shoe or the dog toy baby finds behind the couch will probably break them in first.dont worry all babies are diff.good luck
Reply:Leave them alone, they will come through when they are ready. Just like everything else in life, teeth grow at their own rate. If they show no signs of erupting soon, you can ask you pediatrician and they may order dental x-rays, but she just might be a little behind.
Reply:There's nothing you can do to make them come up. They'll come up in their own time........
Reply:Oh My God! Is this a competition or what? Leave her alone and she will get teeth when her body is ready!

My cousin didn't get teeth until he was 3 and that is because he busted his gums accidentally!

If you are really that concerned, call her doc!
Reply:I don't think you can make them come out? If you can see them starting to come out you can give her hard things to chew on so that it is soothing as well as helping the teeth break through. But if they aren't even ready yet, there isn't any magical miracle tooth grow.

All breastfeeding moms- what did you do when your baby got teeth in so they learn not to bite your breast?

i've heard some stories about the babies biting hard when they get their teeth. i have an infant who will be cutting teeth soon. looking for tips on what to do

All breastfeeding moms- what did you do when your baby got teeth in so they learn not to bite your breast?
DON'T STOP BREASTFEEDING, whatever you do. There is no reason for that!! Shame on all those who suggested it!

Breastfeeding is a remarkably advanced mechanism; sucking in different ways produces different types of milk and different rates of flow. Babies know this from experience.

By the time your baby is old enough to have teeth, he or she knows how to feed properly. So a baby who is biting you is a baby who is no longer hungry, and is playing with you instead. Put your finger in the corner of the baby's mouth to break the suction, and take the baby off your breast. Do this immediately whenever he or she bites, and you will get the message across.

Depending on how old your baby is, it might be time to start offering some alternatives anyway. If baby has teeth, he or she should probably be introduced to solid foods and a sippy cup. This does not replace breastmilk, and you should not stop nursing! This is just to supplement, and can give you a break if you're still sore from a bite. But keep trying, and baby will probably outgrow the biting phase.

DON'T LISTEN TO THE IDIOTS WHO TELL YOU TO GIVE IT UP!!
Reply:stop breast feeding
Reply:Take your child away from your breast immediately when your child does that. Well, disengage your nipple first. A stern "NO BITE" will get through too.
Reply:It's probley safe to say stop letting him/her feed from you and get a pump, it's just as healthy.
Reply:when my older son was three months old, he had six teeth and used to chew my nipples until they bled. the scary thing was that he liked the blood. my milk dried up after a couple months of this. i tried the "no" thing but once he had tasted blood he didn't care. i wanted to continue breastfeeding, but there was no way. i don't know if the milk dried up because of the weaning process or because of the damage done to the tissues...whatever you do, don't let the baby taste the blood.
Reply:they have nipple protectors you can use to protect your breasts from feisty nursers. Try Babies R Us.com
Reply:My son has never bit me! And he is 2 1/2 years old now %26amp; still nursing. He got his first teeth at 3 months old!!! He just never bit at all!!
Reply:its time to wheen your babie.feed it babyfood by spoon.
Reply:When my son first got teeth, I didn't really have a problem. When his bottom teeth came in was when we really starting working on it. He would sometimes slip off a little and scrape with his teeth. Usually I would just pop him off and help him re-latch. Later, he started biting, just to see what would happen. Whenever he bits, I pop him off, tell him no biting, and let him try again. If he bites twice, then I put him down for a while. He stopped biting after 2 or 3 times of that (he likes his nursies!). You should also watch for times that your child is more likely to bite, like when they are not really interested in the milk anymore. My son bit most often near the end of feedings and when he was tired.
Reply:Don't listen to those who recommend stopping breastfeeding! My little guy just got his first tooth in last Thursday so I know how you are feeling. I asked my mother what she recommended once he starts biting, and she said that for me and my younger sister, just pulling us off and saying 'no' worked. For my older sister (the stubborn one, lol) nothing seemed to work. Finally, in slight desperation, the next time she bit, my mom pulled my sister’s hair just enough to make baby realize that biting hurts! It worked the first time - she never chomped down again! Hope this helps and congratulations on the little one!

My baby is 3 days shy from turning 8 months...but she has no teeth yet??!?

As a first time mother i find myself worrying about my little one!

Usually i see babies with teeth already at her age! Am i doing something wrong??!

or is it okay she still ahs no teeth! =[

PLease help!

And is there anything i can do to help her develop teeth?!

She is a pretty good eater...eats approximatly 4 onces every 2-3 hours, she eats oatmeal in the morning and loves her fruits! She weights 18.11 pounds....

Am i feeding her the correct way?!

My baby is 3 days shy from turning 8 months...but she has no teeth yet??!?
my daughter didn't start getting teeth until she was about 9 1/2 months and then it seemd like they all came in at once. she had all by the time she was like 13months
Reply:There's nothin u can do 2 make her grow teeth. It's fine that she doen't have any yet. The later the teeth come in, the better - less chance of tooth decay. Make sure you are giving her veggies as well - don't give her too much fruit.
Reply:It is actually better the longer it takes a baby to teeth rather than earlier. Besides, if you are breast feeding...consider yourself very lucky!
Reply:i didn't get my first tooth thill almost 1 year. and i didn't lose the first till i was almost 9 years old. don't worry, they'll be fine, whenever they decide to show up...
Reply:My daughter was pretty close to a year before she got any. I assume your taking her to well baby visits. I'm sure that at her 9 month appt the pediatrician will check for teeth and if he/she is concerned, they will say something.

I know my pediatrician said if my daughter didn't have any by 12 months then she might want to send her to a pediatric dentist. Luckily, we didn't need to do that.

I'm sure they will pop out soon. One day you'll peek in her mouth and there they'll be! Thats what happened with me.
Reply:My daugher did not get any teeth until she was 9 months and then they just started coming...I was paranoid about it too...I do not think that you have any need to worry.:)
Reply:she's fine.... every baby is different...

no worries.. they'll come eventually!
Reply:My first son didnt get any teeth until he was almost 1yr old!!!!

My pediatrician said not to worry about it until after the age of one but if you are concerned you can call a pediatric dentist OR your childs doctor just to ease your mind!
Reply:It's nothing you're doing right or wrong. It happens at different ages. I was curious, but not worried, cuz my daughter had no teeth at that age either. The doctor wasn't concerned at all, she said she never met a child who didn't get their teeth in. Finally, at the age of 14 months, my daughter got her first two teeth in. Everyone I talked to at the time had never experienced or heard of that, but many people I've seen on here have. So it's not as uncommon as you may think.
Reply:All babies are different. My son didn't get his first teeth until he was 9 months. He is 11 months now and still only has two. Dentists and pediatricians agree that it is actually better when the teeth are delayed because the longer the teeth stay under the gums, the healthier the teeth.

As far as your baby's diet goes, she should be drinking 18-24 oz of breast milk or formula, three meals and two snacks per day. She should have cereal twice a day (2-4 tbls per feeding) with two servings of fruit and three servings of veggies. I can't recall the amount of a serving for 8 months old. You should check with your doctor for feeding schedules. They also have them on Earths best.com and gerber.com.

Here is what I fed my son at 8 months:

Breakfast: 4 Tablespoons cereal mixed with 2 oz breast milk and 2oz or half a jar of stage 2 fruit.

Snack: 1/2 jar fruit

Lunch: 1 jar of stage two veggies or dinner combinations. 1/2 jar fruit.

Snack: 2 Tablespoons Organic yogurt mixed with small amount of fruit.

Dinner: 4 tablespoons cereal mixed with breast milk or 1/2 jar fruit and cereal combination with 1 jar of veggie or dinner combination.

I thought it was a lot but my pediatrician says that he isn't over weight and that babies will tell you when they are done! I hope this helps.
Reply:Babies get teeth and different times. So don't worry.

My son (full term) had his first teeth at 7 months. My 9 1/2 month old twins now don't have teeth yet (they were 6 1/2 weeks early). But they are getting them soon though. I can see 2 swells on their bottom gums.

My baby's teeth are not coming in the usual order, is this something to worry about?

My ten month old got her two bottom front teeth around 7 and 8 months. She had a little teething break and now one just broke through on top. Rather than one of the two front teeth I was expecting,it's farther right. I'm not sure if it's a lateral incisor or a cuspid because without the front one's it's hard to judge. Is this just another one of those "all babies are different" things or should I be concerned? I know it sounds dumb, but I feel like she is never going to have her two front teeth lol.

My baby's teeth are not coming in the usual order, is this something to worry about?
You have nothing to worry about, lol. Two of my nephews had there incisors which came through first and they looked like Dracula for a while until the front teeth grew. They have perfect teeth now they are adults. Of my own 4 children none went absolutely ''to the book''. They all develop differently and at their own pace both the teeth and their general growth and development.
Reply:Its nothing to worry about. babies teeth come through through all angles. its fine, you shouldnt need to worry.!
Reply:I felt the same way. My son got his two bottom front teeth around 7 months also. I asked his dr. if he was ever going to get his top two teeth. She said everything was fine, and that it would be very unusual to not get them; if he didn't have them by the time he was 1 year or so, that they could do an x-ray. Needless to say, he got all of his teeth!!

Try not to worry as this is very normal. Bring it up at her next dr. appointment if you are still concerned.
Reply:Not at all. My oldest's teeth came in all sorts of odd.

http://www.simplyteeth.com/category/sect...

It is probably his lateral incisor as teh next one out is canine and *SHOULD* be the last of the baby teeth to erupt. They are alos usually the most difficult. My poor little guy cut all four canines at once! Our entire househols was in distress for a month because he was so miserable no matter what we did! Glad that's over.
Reply:My son got the two bottom teeth first and then the two top front teeth, but then it has skipped around a bit. At least not in the order I would think. He had some spaces I didn't think would ever come in, but sure enough they did. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
Reply:I dont think its something to worry about, my son grew two teeth in one spot! and the dentist said that it was nothing to worry about they would fall out and when his new teth came in she would check them and make sure there was just one
Reply:I wouldn't worry. It's not that big of a deal but if other teeth start coming in and they are not in the right place, then talk to your doctor.
Reply:All babies get their teeth in at different places at different times, my son got 1 front tooth and one bottom tooth first then he got in a side tooth on the top the the other front top and bottom. I would not worry about it.
Reply:my kids teeth have done some strange things so I wouldn't worry too much. My twins both had adult teeth come in behind the baby teeth so they ended up with two rows of teeth on the bottom front. The dentist said it was common and ended up having to pull the baby teeth since what usually makes them fall out is the adult teeth pushing up on them.

I would say wait and see what happens, it's likely that the two front teeth will come in very soon.
Reply:The old wives tale is that the later the teeth come out, the stronger they will be. There's nothing to worry about because they are her baby teeth and not permanent.

Genes have alot to do with it too.

My baby is 9months old and still no teeth at all.

My mom said that my baby teeth started to pierce around 1 year old and my husband's started around 10 months, so I expect mine to be a late bloomer too.

If your really concern or if her teeth come out crooked then call a dentist. Good Luck!
Reply:it's completely normal, since i'm dentist i didnt freak out coz my kids also had really UNUSUAL teething sequence, nothing to worry about , besides he's still young, if he grew up without having front teeth at all, take to a dentist and check him up, he might take an xray to see if the teeth r there hiding or missing, but i said when he's older not now !!
Reply:You have no need to worry at all, my baby got his two bottom, then one that's next to the two front on top and now at 9 month's the two front are making their way through.
Reply:Nothing to worry about mine got her eye teeth befor her front teeth.

Good luck with the whole teething thing. My second is just 5 weeks and I am so not looking forward to that again..lol

Is it normal for an 11 month old kitten not to have lost its baby teeth yet?

I haven't seen her lose any teeth, but she is constantly chewing(teething?) on toys and cardboard and my hands.

Is it normal for an 11 month old kitten not to have lost its baby teeth yet?
During its lifetime, a cat has two sets of teeth, a deciduous set and a permanent set. Kittens have 26 deciduous teeth (molars are absent); adult cats have a total of 30 teeth.

Deciduous or “milk teeth” begin to appear when the kitten is about four weeks of age. At six weeks of age all 26 deciduous teeth are present. From 11 to 30 weeks of age, kittens lose their deciduous teeth. During this time they may eat less because of sore gums.

When the deciduous teeth fall out, they are replaced by 30 permanent teeth. The permanent teeth should be in place by about six months of age.

A cat's teeth are well-suited to rip and cut. Twelve tiny teeth in the front of the mouth (incisors): six in the upper jaw, six in the lower jaw do some scraping. They are flanked by two upper and two lower canines, sometimes described as “fangs,” designed to hold prey and to tear flesh. Ten sharp premolars and four molars act together to cut food.

A cat occasionally retains a deciduous tooth after the permanent tooth appears. This deciduous tooth should be removed as soon as possible to avoid displacing the permanent tooth.

Extra teeth are occasionally found in cats. They should be removed by a veterinarian if they cause crowding or injury to soft tissue or other teeth.

Put tape on electrical wiring so your little ones do not hurt themselves.

Keep household chemicals out of her way.

Give your little ones a few special toys to chew on:

Soak chew toys in broth or rub them all over with your hands (your kitten loves your scent and is more likely to chew something that smells like you).

Another thing is to use a cold towel. This helps relieve the pain of teething. Tie a knot in a small clean towel, wet it, wring it out and put it in the freezer to chill. Your kittens will love this!

Teething is a part of growing up, it is very important.

http://www.kittencare.com/askKC_Dental_C...
Reply:It is not normal. Your cat should have her adult teeth by now. Adult teeth on cats grow out pretty fast, often growing out next to/hidden by the baby teeth and it can be difficult to catch/see the change, so my guess is that your cat has her adult teeth and you simply didn't notice it.

Some cats like to chew. All my Maine Coons have been notorious card board chewers - unrelated to their teething.

Is it ok to play Tug of War with a puppy (10 weeks) when there baby teeth are coming in??

Just wondering I noticed that when we have played really hard tug of war her gums are bleeding. Could this be bad for her cause her bottom teeth are just barely showing and her other front teeth are halfway in. She loves it and doesnt act bothered but I am afraid I may be hurting her.

Is it ok to play Tug of War with a puppy (10 weeks) when there baby teeth are coming in??
Yes. I was wondering this too about my pup. Just be gentle with it. Let her do the tugging. But then it will just be a few months till you wont have to worry about it. So maybe better safe than sorry. I do know they like humans neeed to chew.
Reply:yes its fine dogs teeth are like rocks
Reply:Just don't play for very long at a time or pull really hard.
Reply:Unless you're trying to teach your dog to be aggressive, you shouldn't play tug of war with the animal at all.

Reply:Well actually playing tug of war with a puppy is not really the best thing.....from what I have heard it can actually make them agressive.

Reply:If your puppy's gums are bleeding, you probably are hurting her. I wouldn't tug so hard. It's fine to play, just don't be so rough.
Reply:Hell. Remember when you are playing tug of war with puppy that this is the way a pup would behave in the wild with it's pack members fighting for a piece of meat etc. Playing tug of war with a dog is a great confidence builder for the dog should he need it, this being done by the owner letting the dog win once in awhile. I would highly suggest you don't play this game with your pup. Even though it may only be a once in awhile game, it will begin to reinforce to the pup that at times he may have to (tug/fight) for what he wants. Try playing hide n seek games with him. Also, never ever let puppy chew on your toes, fingers etc. This would not be an acceptable behavior if he were with litter mates. You are his mom/pack leader.

Good luck.
Reply:Are you okay with giving your dog braces?
Reply:do it really lightly or if it's gums still bleeding then stop it can rip her teeth out and it will hurt her really bad!so if i doesn't work just take him for walks and play in the backyard for fun or soft chey toys good luck!
Reply:just try not to play soooooo rough,GENTLE tug of war is best

and as far as making dogs aggressive it wont unless the dog is aggressive by nature. also training the dog using the word "out" or "drop" is helpful prior to playing these games so you dont get bad habits when the dog has something you dont want them to have they dont think its a game...
Reply:Yes its ok to play tug a war with your puppy cause they are very strong and also all puppies loose their puppy teeth,,, I play tug a war with my dogs and the show no aggression issues at all,,,, I hope this helps and good luck with your lil' puppy
Reply:Their teeth ***ARE*** in by 10 weeks!!!!!! HAVE been!!!!

YOU need to RESEARCH!!!
Reply:Dogs should only play tug-o-war with other dogs, not humans.

My daughter will be 7 in November and has not lost any of her baby teeth....?

Is this normal? She just has not shed any teeth yet and none of them are loose either. She has regular dental check ups and cleanings every six months. Is there anything I can do or give her to eat to make the process start quicker? Share your child's experiences when they lost they teeth please. Thanks

My daughter will be 7 in November and has not lost any of her baby teeth....?
they will fall out when they're ready. my son's first tooth didn't come out until 2 months before his 7th birthday. The next one came out 1 month before his birthday and to be honest, I can't remember the third one coming out. The first one, he didn't even tell us his tooth wa loose. It just popped out of his mouth and he came into the kitchen and handed it to me.

It seemed like they started coming out rapidly after that first one but he's not had one come in about 2 months now.

So be patient, yes, I think this is normal. I expected my son's teeth to start falling out at age 4 or 5 but like I said the 1st one did 2 months before his 7th birthday.
Reply:the longer the baby teeth stay in the better.

My son lost his first tooth right after he started kindergarten (5yrs)
Reply:My daughter will be 7 February 8, and still has not lost any teeth as of yet. You can also talk to her teacher about the ratio of lost teeth to students to give you a better idea
Reply:Oh, me oh my...my son shed his teeth late and in highschool even had one fall out. When they called me about it they asked if he got his teeth early and I said no I thought he may of needed to get his gums cut for them to even erupt! We all laughed..

Relax the dentist would let you know when to worry
Reply:3 of my kids were 7 before they lost any of their teeth. The dentist would have let you know if there were any problems. Be thankful it is taking longer. It makes for healthier adult teeth.
Reply:soonner or later they will fall out. just give it time too
Reply:that is normal
Reply:My oldest daughter just lost her first tooth a couple of months ago at a little over 6. My youngest brother didn't lose any of his teeth until he was 9. The longer the baby ones stay in the healthier the adult teeth are(or so they say) Do not rush it they will come out when ready.
Reply:my younger sister is turning 12 and has lost 5 baby teeth!

some children have teeth that take a little longer to come out,

but there is good news, children whos teeth fall out later end up having stronger teeth. the reason- because throughout theyre childhood they are just using the 'temporary" teeth. so this can be a good thing =]
Reply:My nephew was the same. He's was 8 1/2 when he started loosing his baby teeth. He's now 9 and has lost only 6 of them. My sister asked the dentist the same question. As far as I remember, the dentist told her that as long as the teeth are healthy, they'll fall out when they're ready. Each child is different. Ask your dentist, he'll be able to tell you if there are any problems to worry about.
Reply:What kind of mother are you? Ought to be ashamed of yourself! Don't you have a pair of pliers in the house? For pete's sake they're only a few bucks, run down to Ace Hardware and pick up a pair and start pulling those baby teeth! I can't believe someone hasn't said anything to you about this or notified the authorities. I'm assumming she isn't in day care, because this would've been taken care of 1.5-2 years ago. Seven is WAY to old to still have ANY baby teeth, your dentist should've taken care of this.
Reply:All kids are different. If the dentist says everything is ok, don't worry about it. I knew a guy who still had to have some of his baby teeth removed after high school!!!! Me? I lost all mine and got my 12-year molars at 8. Wisdom teeth at 10, and I'm fine, too. I wouldn't rush it, unless she gets to be like that guy I know.
Reply:Don't worry, she's fine. My niece didn't lose her first baby tooth until she was 10. Her dentist told my sister that children who tend to lose their baby teeth later generally have stronger permanent teeth. My niece is now 19 years old and has never had a cavity.

Can you recommend things to give my puppy to help him lose some of his baby teeth?

My 5 month old puppy has 4 different teeth (two in the front and his two top canines) that have not fallen out even though his adult teeth have grown in. The vet said that we need to start wiggling them to get them out and if they are not out by January, we will need to get them pulled but I really want to avoid putting him under anesthesia.

The teeth aren't loose AT ALL and he doesn't sit still long enough for us to really sit there and wiggle them. Is there anything I can give him to at least get them moving at all? He has raw hides and a cow knee but those haven't done anything. Thank you in advance!

Can you recommend things to give my puppy to help him lose some of his baby teeth?
Leave them alone. Your vet will pull them out when he gets neutered next month (he will already be under anesthetic) when he is 6 months old.

ADD: Gotcha :) If he has not lost his teeth on his own by now, chances are he will not. I would set up an appointment at your veterinarian to pull those residing baby teeth. I would have them pulled within the next month before they create more oral and jaw alignment problems. Unfortunately, no toys/bones/etc. will help his teeth to fall out. Especially, if they are not loose. Good luck!
Reply:y not just have them pulled when u neuter ur dog. that way u can kill two birds with one stone

EDIT: if he hasnt lost them now then he wont and if u dont get them pulled he will be in pain. and it is mean to try to do it urself.
Reply:Give him hard and juicy things to eat and make sure you let him play with yanking kind of toys and toys and food to make the teeth looser and make him healthier.
Reply:Give him a flavored bone (to help with the pain of losing teeth). Also a non-fuzzy squeaky toy.
Reply:Use those chewy flavored bones (NOT RAWHIDE!), safe chewing sticks, and teething toys. This should help. You can also try brushing his teeth.
Reply:At 5 months of age you should be teaching your puppy to sit still for grooming, ear cleaning, nail clipping, teeth brushing.I recommend a puppy obediance class so you can handle your puppy better and enjoy him more. That said, my daughter had permanent teeth come in behind her baby teeth and had to get the baby teeth pulled. Maybe vet can just use sedation, not anasthesia.

What can I do now that I'm an adult with a gap and baby teeth?

I have 2 adult teeth (fangs) embeded within my gums only noticable in an xray they grew slanted causing them not to come down. I have a big gap that look like the size of a tooth.I am know in my 40's and wondering what are my options? and will this cause me a fortune?

What can I do now that I'm an adult with a gap and baby teeth?
At the very least you should give yourself the opportunity to have a consultation (sometimes done at no charge) with an orthodontist about this. They would be able to advise you best about what your options might be. For instance, I had braces as an adult and although it cost a tidy sum the correction of the way my teeth bite together has saved me from needed crowns on my back teeth from wearing them down. All in all, not only is my smile fabulous but I actually feel like I saved money but paying for the braces and not a mouth full of crowns.....

Hope that helps

Reply:Yes, it will be very expensive, but dentists can do pretty nice bridgework now. They should be able to fill it in somehow. I know one bridge was going to cost me around $3000.
Reply:OMG u still have baby teeth? i lost all mines 3 years ago.
Reply:focus on your inner beauty. without zero dental work you can be more appealing than some people with the nicest teeth. be beautiful... and worry about the teeth later.
Reply:Braces would be your best and permanent option. It will only coast you $3500-4000.But it will make feel worth 1000000.Go for it.

My 3 yr old was playing hard and fell and knocked out one of his baby teeth.?

Will a dentist be willing to put a fake tooth in its place? Its one of his front teeth and I hate that hes going to be without a tooth for at least a few years.

My 3 yr old was playing hard and fell and knocked out one of his baby teeth.?
You should bring him to a dentist because you need to make sure that there is not nerve damage. The dentist will tell you what a viable option is. I have heard that if you know tooth out, you can put it in milk and they might be able to reset but I am not sure if that is just for second teeth. Hope your baby is feeling OK.
Reply:I don't think that dentists will replace baby teeth. Because in a few years, they'd just have to remove it again so that a new, permanent tooth could grow in. If you really want a replacement, you can always asks the dentists in your area.
Reply:I don't think the dentist will do anything about this, I'm sorry.
Reply:no .he is too young to have a fake tooth wait till about age 5
Reply:You may hate it bUt he could (or will) care less. Why spend the money?
Reply:well if you ask the dentist i'm almost positive they will only unless it could affect his health my tooth died and i had a gray tooth for 3 yrs. when i was little
Reply:It'll grow back in a few years or months if he's lucky I don't don't think you need to worry too much but you should tske him to the dentist and get it checked out for an infection or to prevent a future

Happy Thsnksgiving God Bless you and child!!!!!!
Reply:The only - and I emphasize - the ONLY person to whom it is appropriate to address this question IS the dentist. There are pros and cons to each approach; let him/her explain them to you and go with his/her recommendation.
Reply:Its not common that a dentist will re-place a baby tooth, but it all depends what the conditions are, many times when a child falls, they also man need stitches if the tooth rips the top or botttum of the gum.
Reply:Poor thing! It is very unlikely that any dentist will put a false tooth in a wee one as single-tooth prostheses are so small if he falls again he might swallow\inhale it. Also, baby teeth are too small and have too big a 'nerve' to have a bridge attached.

So I think you'll have to get used to his gap!! Usually from adult teeth come in ata bout 6 years old...
Reply:I would let it go . . . he will have a permanent tooth to come back in a few years. He is a toddler, and it will only add to his cuteness. You should play toothfairy with him, and make it a positive all around experience. Just my opinion, but this is just part of life.
Reply:im not sure if replacing it would be economically efficeint but put the knocked out tooth in a cup of milk, if the tooth is still fresh, you might be able to put the origional tooth bak in.

thats what ive heard.
Reply:No. Just wait for his adult teeth to come in.
Reply:As an orthodontist...I would not consider putting in an implant as he'll be getting more teeth anyway. In addition, in order to put in an implant I would have to take an impression of his bite. If your child doesn't have all his baby teeth it would be virtually impossible to accurately implant a tooth in it's place and not create problems with alignment for bite a future tooth placements.
Reply:Why would you want to replace a baby tooth? It is not necessary. The adult tooth will grow in fast enough. It is not that big of a deal.
Reply:Take him to the dentist ASAP. My mom's friend's first grand son Matthew knocked out his 2 front teeth and the gum started to rot. His mother(who is too lazy sometimes to take of him) waited around 1 1/2 years to take him to get it checked out and they rotted so bad to the point that they would never grow in. Now he has sliver teeth. He looked pretty bad too.
Reply:Take him to the dentist and have it checked out to see that everything is okay. If it is just for aesthetic reasons, you could see if they could make you something called a "flipper". It is a cap that can be removed, but looks like a regular tooth. Then he wouldn't have a gap.

I would be more worried that the adult tooth would descend properly than whether or not there is an empty space......

My dog is 5 years old& just lost 2 teeth, but i don't recall her ever losing her baby teeth.why now?

how old is a dog when it starts to lose it's teeth?i have a chiwauau

My dog is 5 years old%26amp; just lost 2 teeth, but i don't recall her ever losing her baby teeth.why now?
Look in her mouth. Are the gums red and the teeth have tartar buildup?Dogs need dental care just as we do.Time for the vets.
Reply:If your 5 year old dog is losing teeth, she desperately needs to get to the vet for a dental check-up. Adult dogs should never lose teeth. If her teeth are falling out she's got serious tooth and gum problems and those can lead to serious illnesses (like kidney and heart). Chihuahuas and a lot of other toy breeds have notoriously bad teeth - do your girl a favor and get her checked out ASAP.
Reply:they should have all there adult teeth by teh time they are a year old. at 5 she may be loosing her teeth prematurely she should be checked by a vet

Is there an explanation as to why kid's teeth grow in crooked after they lose their baby teeth?

Is it genetic or is there any other explanation that explain why their teeth grow in crooked besides "they just do"?

Is there an explanation as to why kid's teeth grow in crooked after they lose their baby teeth?
Baby teeth serve as space maintainers. If lost prematurely, the rest of the teeth will drift and the space will close up, and the permanent tooth might come in crooked because there is insufficient space.

That is the reason why it's important to ensure a child's baby teeth are healthy all the way until they are about to be shed.

Hope this helps.
Reply:I was wondering that the other day, also, why is it that people of African desent need braces far less often than others? Is it just because mouths are bigger? xx
Reply:Genetics are a big part of it, although sometime a tooth will come in crooked , because the root tip of the baby tooth didn't dissolve and the permanent tooth grows behind or in front of it, but then again that too is basically genetics. size of teeth and mouth all play a role and that too is all from the good ole family gene pool.
Reply:From personal experience, I don't think it's all about genetics, because both of my parents have straight teeth, but after I lost my baby teeth, I had a problem. chances are if you have big teeth, you need a big mouth, or there will be some major crowding. Also if you have small teeth, it's probably better to have a small mouth, or there may be large gaps. I experienced crowding, I had to see an oral surgeon and he had to remove my 4 back teeth because I didnt have enough room in my mouth for all those teeth, then I had to go through 2 years of braces. Now my teeth are straight, and I'm happy.

My daughter is three and dosen't understand it's not time to lose baby teeth now!!?

She watched Aurther and DW(i think that's who it was) was wanting to lose a tooth like aurther. All she does is pull and tug on her teeth. I tell her it is not time yet she is still a little girl, not a big girl. What suggestions do you have for me to help her be more patient? It is kinda cute her being so excited, but I don't want her to dammage her teeth.

My daughter is three and dosen't understand it's not time to lose baby teeth now!!?
let her know what age that her teeth really do come out and tell her that author and dw were old enough to get there teeth out. tell her that she has to big like author and dw and when she gets that old then she can have her teeth come out. Also let here know that if she keeps tugging at her teeth then they'll nver come out. And the reason i say this is because sometimes you have to tell alittle lie or story to get them to undersatnd.
Reply:my daughter did the same thing after watching the same episode!!! I wanted to sqeeze DW actually becuase my daughter drove me bonkers over it. She won't harm her teeth from pulling on them, just watch her and if she starts pushing forward and backward a lot, that might harm it. I told my daughter that if you made your own teeth come out by pulling, tugging, etc that the tooth fairy wouldn't come. that the toothfairy only came when it fell out all by itself.
Reply:Yeah... my daughter had bouts of that. It comes and goes. Funny, I don't remember even being aware of this until I was at least in kindergarten.

Play-Doh makes a dentist thing with a head that you can mold teeth and put in it (and pull them out). If she's totally obsessed with pulling teeth, maybe this would be a diversion. You can tell her she can pull out the Play-Doh teeth but not her own.
Reply:I'm going through the same thing with my 5 year old who's turning 6 and it's killing her that her friends are losing their teeth and she doesn't even have a loose tooth yet.

So your child is only in round 1 of the waiting game!

Tell her that most kids don't start loosing their teeth until 6 and maybe that will convince her. At least until she gets closer to 6 that is.

Good luck
Reply:This is just the first in a long list of things she will think she should b ready to do long before she is. Keep reassuring her that her day will come. In the meantime get her a toy dentist kit and a stuffed animal with teeth to practice on.
Reply:my 4yr old daughter got given a childrens book called the tooth fairy it has a tooth bag and as the story goes on they will realise the teeth fall out when they do.

the author of the book is written by Jan payne and illistrated by poly bernatene thats how my daughter found out .so it is a good learning book on losing ur teeth.

I am 30 yrs old and I still have two of my baby teeth and I want to know should they be pulled?

I consulted with a dentist he told me that they can pull the tooth down or replace it with false but I can't see my self with no teeth.... Can anyone give me some insight on the topic...

I am 30 yrs old and I still have two of my baby teeth and I want to know should they be pulled?
Just what I know!

♦ One of my Aunts (60+ yo) has two rows of teeth: both adult and baby ones are not punk yet. My Uncle in law is very happy with her;
Reply:why would you think you'd have no teeth? the doc told you he can pull them and fix the problem. i say go for it.
Reply:no. my mom is 38 and she is the same. and my aunty. my aunty said b/c she never had the adult teeth behind. so it is fine
Reply:at the age of 30, I wouldn't bother.

If the dentist said he could pull the tooth below it and replace with a false tooth..you'd have to consider everything first ...but , either get a second opinion, or don't bother*

GoodLuck*
Reply:It is usual for the milk teeth - or deciduous teeth - to come out at an early age, and the adult teeth to replace those "locked" by them. If your dentist has offered to extract them and replace them with prosthetic teeth, it will be your choice. If they are unsightly or cause you any problem, then that may be one of your choices. Presumably there are no adult teeth awaiting to replace them. I fail to understand your statement of not being able to see yourself with no teeth. You state that there are only two. It is usual to extract them and immediately replace them with the prosthetic teeth. Unless, that is, your dental surgeon has a reason for any delay. Your other course, is to leave them in place if they are no problem.

Hope this helps

Reply:It sounds like the adult teeth are either impacted or high up in the bone and just never had a chance to come down. Did your dentist mention that maybe the baby teeth have root resorption or decay present?? If the baby teeth have to go anyway the only way to pull those adult teeth down are with braces, that would mean a full orthodontic (braces) case. That could take some time.

If you have a partial placed in the area of the missing teeth it is an easy fix without going after the adult teeth still under the gum.

Either way it is up to you. You are not too old for braces and partial dentures or flippers that replace only a couple of teeth may take a little getting used to but they are not that bad and don't take nearly the same amount of time as being in braces for a couple of years (at least.)

Good luck, I know that one is a tough decision!
Reply:As long as the teeth are healthy and not causing any problems for you, I would keep them. It's relatively common for people to keep baby teeth for a long time if the permanent teeth don't come in. If you don't like how they look (if they are too small in comparison with your adult teeth) you could have the dentist make crowns or veneers to make them fit in with your other teeth better -- this might be easier (and less expensive) than getting either a bridge or implants that you would need to replace the teeth if you have them pulled.

Is it normal for a 7yr old to loose 6 baby teeth in a matter of 3 months?

The top gums look like the 2 teeth want to come thru but not yet...

Is it normal for a 7yr old to loose 6 baby teeth in a matter of 3 months?
Kids are all different. What happens to one kid doesn't necessarily happen to another.
Reply:Perfectly normal...I should know I have 5 kids!
Reply:Simple answer: yep.

Usually one looses the lower front two teeth, then the ones next to them, then the top front two, then the ones beside them. It usually starts about 6 yrs old , give or take 6 months. Follow this link the American Dental Society for the "big picture."

http://www.ada.org/public/topics/tooth_e...

Oh, notice that the first permanent teeth to come in are the 6 year molars, and they come in behind all the baby teeth.
Reply:yea.... each kid develops diffrently. some kids lose their teeth at a young age or a fast pace and other lose their teeth when their older or at a slow pace
Reply:Probably, if his or her teeth came in quickly. My son's teeth came in quickly and back to back to back and that is the same way he lost them. He is 11 now with no problems and still has beautiful straight teeth.
Reply:I think it should be normal. But who knows some kids are different than others?.?
