How to save baby teeth...?

My 6 year old lost his first tooth tonight! We're both really excited and the tooth fairy has already come and taken the tooth. ;) What I want to know is: what is the best way to save this little tooth? Is that weird? I just can't bear to throw it away. Please help. Any experience you've had with this will be appreciated.

Aloha :)

How to save baby teeth...?
My little one lost hers at 4 1/2.....we stuck it in a little jar with the date that she lost it......its NOT weird.....at least in my opinion......they also have "fancy" jars that say "my first tooth" that you can purchase....and have their names engraved on them.
Reply:Sow it in soil while praying God. Report It

Reply:My mother actually always put my baby teeth in a special envelope and kept it in a safe place.

After I lost all my baby teeth, she sealed the envelope and put it in a box of baby things.

If you have a baby memory box, that would be a great place to store them.

Here is an example of one such keepsake box:

Hope this helps!
Reply:that is soooooooo darn cute!!!!! congratulations on that! my mom has mine in one of those tiny lil' zip lock bags,,, i don't know where to get one of those (since it was my dad's..... lol... it was the 70's) but you can use a small little box that jewelry comes in.. or a regular zip lock... there is no specific way to store it....
Reply:Just put it in a box.
Reply:the tooth fairy keeps them in a snap lock bag here with the date each tooth is lost written on
Reply:I got a container with a lid rom the dentist, to put under her pillow when she looses a tooth, I also got one for myself. I have put all of my daughters teeth in it. I keep it hidden away in a safe spot. It doesn't have to be huge. My mom used a discarded pill bottle she wrote on it with a permanent marker which child it belonged to. Anything you choose will work. The most important part is finding somewhere to put it where she won't discover it.
Reply:ok i have 2 kids and i'm the same way...only i saved all their (front only ) teeth....i have a jar that says my first tooth...more like an ornament...i keep the teeth in there...and in a safe place....it's to remember how small they were and say i remember that day....
Reply:I keep my son's baby teeth in a little jewelry box which once contained a bracelet. It's nicely padded with velvet and cotton. A ring box would work just as well. I wouldn't think of throwing my son's teeth away, either, although I had some explaining to do when he found the box with the teeth and said he thought the tooth fairy took them with her :-))
Reply:the first thing your do is steralize it and then you can get a baby food jar and put all the teeth that he loses in the jar. Be sure to steralize every single tooth( becuase you dont want it to smell) and hide it(becuase you dont him to find it and never believe in the tooth fairy again)
Reply:My son's is wrapped in tissue, in a little box I keep in my dresser. He's 15, and doesn't know I have it.
Reply:I just put my daughters in a little box, she has found it twice so I lied to her and said they were the dog's baby teeth, I don't think it is weird we waited a long time for those little teeth to come in!
Reply:Use an empty film canister. You can buy one of those fancy label markers to mark it with or simply use a piece of masking tape.

As an adult I was cleaning out and tried to throw out my baby teeth my mom had saved and she had a fit. She ended up keeping them at her house. I'm married now and starting my own family...lol
Reply:I don't think there are any wrong ways to save the teeth. My dad actually has all my baby teeth in an old advil bottle. lol It's not weird at all to want to keep the teeth, they are part of the memories of raising your son.
