My daughter will be 7 in November and has not lost any of her baby teeth....?

Is this normal? She just has not shed any teeth yet and none of them are loose either. She has regular dental check ups and cleanings every six months. Is there anything I can do or give her to eat to make the process start quicker? Share your child's experiences when they lost they teeth please. Thanks

they will fall out when they're ready. my son's first tooth didn't come out until 2 months before his 7th birthday. The next one came out 1 month before his birthday and to be honest, I can't remember the third one coming out. The first one, he didn't even tell us his tooth wa loose. It just popped out of his mouth and he came into the kitchen and handed it to me.


It seemed like they started coming out rapidly after that first one but he's not had one come in about 2 months now.


So be patient, yes, I think this is normal. I expected my son's teeth to start falling out at age 4 or 5 but like I said the 1st one did 2 months before his 7th birthday.

Reply:My daughter will be 7 February 8, and still has not lost any teeth as of yet. You can also talk to her teacher about the ratio of lost teeth to students to give you a better idea
Reply:Oh, me oh my...my son shed his teeth late and in highschool even had one fall out. When they called me about it they asked if he got his teeth early and I said no I thought he may of needed to get his gums cut for them to even erupt! We all laughed..


Relax the dentist would let you know when to worry
Reply:3 of my kids were 7 before they lost any of their teeth. The dentist would have let you know if there were any problems. Be thankful it is taking longer. It makes for healthier adult teeth.

Reply:My oldest daughter just lost her first tooth a couple of months ago at a little over 6. My youngest brother didn't lose any of his teeth until he was 9. The longer the baby ones stay in the healthier the adult teeth are(or so they say) Do not rush it they will come out when ready.

some children have teeth that take a little longer to come out,


but there is good news, children whos teeth fall out later end up having stronger teeth. the reason- because throughout theyre childhood they are just using the 'temporary" teeth. so this can be a good thing =]
Reply:My nephew was the same. He's was 8 1/2 when he started loosing his baby teeth. He's now 9 and has lost only 6 of them. My sister asked the dentist the same question. As far as I remember, the dentist told her that as long as the teeth are healthy, they'll fall out when they're ready. Each child is different. Ask your dentist, he'll be able to tell you if there are any problems to worry about.
Reply:What kind of mother are you? Ought to be ashamed of yourself! Don't you have a pair of pliers in the house? For pete's sake they're only a few bucks, run down to Ace Hardware and pick up a pair and start pulling those baby teeth! I can't believe someone hasn't said anything to you about this or notified the authorities. I'm assumming she isn't in day care, because this would've been taken care of 1.5-2 years ago. Seven is WAY to old to still have ANY baby teeth, your dentist should've taken care of this.
Reply:All kids are different. If the dentist says everything is ok, don't worry about it. I knew a guy who still had to have some of his baby teeth removed after high school!!!! Me? I lost all mine and got my 12-year molars at 8. Wisdom teeth at 10, and I'm fine, too. I wouldn't rush it, unless she gets to be like that guy I know.
Reply:Don't worry, she's fine. My niece didn't lose her first baby tooth until she was 10. Her dentist told my sister that children who tend to lose their baby teeth later generally have stronger permanent teeth. My niece is now 19 years old and has never had a cavity.
