As a first time mother i find myself worrying about my little one!

Usually i see babies with teeth already at her age! Am i doing something wrong??!

PLease help!

And is there anything i can do to help her develop teeth?!

She is a pretty good eater...eats approximatly 4 onces every 2-3 hours, she eats oatmeal in the morning and loves her fruits! She weights 18.11 pounds....

Am i feeding her the correct way?!

My baby is 3 days shy from turning 8 months...but she has no teeth yet??!?
my daughter didn't start getting teeth until she was about 9 1/2 months and then it seemd like they all came in at once. she had all by the time she was like 13months
Reply:There's nothin u can do 2 make her grow teeth. It's fine that she doen't have any yet. The later the teeth come in, the better - less chance of tooth decay. Make sure you are giving her veggies as well - don't give her too much fruit.
Reply:It is actually better the longer it takes a baby to teeth rather than earlier. Besides, if you are breast feeding...consider yourself very lucky!
Reply:i didn't get my first tooth thill almost 1 year. and i didn't lose the first till i was almost 9 years old. don't worry, they'll be fine, whenever they decide to show up...
Reply:My daughter was pretty close to a year before she got any. I assume your taking her to well baby visits. I'm sure that at her 9 month appt the pediatrician will check for teeth and if he/she is concerned, they will say something.

I know my pediatrician said if my daughter didn't have any by 12 months then she might want to send her to a pediatric dentist. Luckily, we didn't need to do that.

I'm sure they will pop out soon. One day you'll peek in her mouth and there they'll be! Thats what happened with me.
Reply:My daugher did not get any teeth until she was 9 months and then they just started coming...I was paranoid about it too...I do not think that you have any need to worry.:)
Reply:she's fine.... every baby is different...

no worries.. they'll come eventually!
Reply:My first son didnt get any teeth until he was almost 1yr old!!!!

My pediatrician said not to worry about it until after the age of one but if you are concerned you can call a pediatric dentist OR your childs doctor just to ease your mind!
Reply:It's nothing you're doing right or wrong. It happens at different ages. I was curious, but not worried, cuz my daughter had no teeth at that age either. The doctor wasn't concerned at all, she said she never met a child who didn't get their teeth in. Finally, at the age of 14 months, my daughter got her first two teeth in. Everyone I talked to at the time had never experienced or heard of that, but many people I've seen on here have. So it's not as uncommon as you may think.
Reply:All babies are different. My son didn't get his first teeth until he was 9 months. He is 11 months now and still only has two. Dentists and pediatricians agree that it is actually better when the teeth are delayed because the longer the teeth stay under the gums, the healthier the teeth.

As far as your baby's diet goes, she should be drinking 18-24 oz of breast milk or formula, three meals and two snacks per day. She should have cereal twice a day (2-4 tbls per feeding) with two servings of fruit and three servings of veggies. I can't recall the amount of a serving for 8 months old. You should check with your doctor for feeding schedules. They also have them on Earths best.com and gerber.com.

Here is what I fed my son at 8 months:

Breakfast: 4 Tablespoons cereal mixed with 2 oz breast milk and 2oz or half a jar of stage 2 fruit.

Snack: 1/2 jar fruit

Lunch: 1 jar of stage two veggies or dinner combinations. 1/2 jar fruit.

Snack: 2 Tablespoons Organic yogurt mixed with small amount of fruit.

Dinner: 4 tablespoons cereal mixed with breast milk or 1/2 jar fruit and cereal combination with 1 jar of veggie or dinner combination.

I thought it was a lot but my pediatrician says that he isn't over weight and that babies will tell you when they are done! I hope this helps.
Reply:Babies get teeth and different times. So don't worry.

My son (full term) had his first teeth at 7 months. My 9 1/2 month old twins now don't have teeth yet (they were 6 1/2 weeks early). But they are getting them soon though. I can see 2 swells on their bottom gums.
