He's been excessively drooling since 5 months old and at his 9 month appointment, his doctor told me she could feel them and that they should be in in a few weeks, I can feel them in the gums and he's been chewing on everything he can get his hands on. Is there anything I can use to get his teeth to come through faster? I'm worried I'll have to take him to the dentist to have them cut them out... Any suggestions?
My son is twelve months old and has no baby teeth yet- should I worry?
NO U SHOULDN'T WORRY. WHEN THEY COME IN THEY WILL
Reply:probably not yet. My twins didn't get thier first teeth until 13-14 months. My sister is a dentist and she even xrayed them to make sure teeth were in there! Of course they were. Once they start coming they won't stop. I think he'll be fine. Talk to his Dr or call your dentist just to make sure. But I would n't worry.
Reply:I WOULD MAKE AN APPT. WITH A DENTIST TO HAVE EX-RAYS DONE TO MAKE SURE HE EVEN HAS TEETH!!! MY STEP- DAUGHTER HAD THE SAME ISSUES!!! IT TOOK HER FOREVER TO GET ANY TEETH AT ALL!!! WAS HE A PREEMIE? SOME MEDS CAN SLOW THEM SOME IN COMING IN!!!
Reply:NO- our son didn't get any teeth until he was 16 months old.
Teeth that come in later are healthier and the teething is easier-at least for our son it was.
Reply:he might not have teeth buds! take him to the dentist. They make baby dentures
Usually babys should get there 2 bottom teeth in around 6 months
Reply:dont worry give him 6 more months and then worry my daughter started the teething stuff at 3 months but her tooth finally broke through at 7 months
Reply:No and I read once the later they come in the better. Better dental health they will have later in life. You just gave him great teeth. They will come in when ready:)

At what age do kittens lose their milk(baby) teeth?
I was just wondering, because my 5 month old kitten seems to have two teeth where one should be, and I keep waiting for one to fall out, but it hasn't! It doesn't seem to be causing her any pain, but she HAS been chewing on things a lot more lately, and I think she's 'teething'. Should I expect it to fall out soon?
*It is one of the big 'fang-like' ones in the very front*
At what age do kittens lose their milk(baby) teeth?
They start anywhere from 2 to 4 months and are finished by 6 months.
Reply:shes teething sometimes you ll see them on the floor but most of the time they swallow them. make sure she has toys to chew on.
Reply:They usually have all of their adult teeth by 6 months of age.You will sometimes see some remaining deciduous (baby) teeth remaining, they can be pulled @ the same time they are spayed or neutered. There is a additional fee (roughly $15-$30 per tooth).
Reply:Kittens start to teeth as early as 4 months and stop by 6 months old. My two kittens started trying to nibble on my bf and my hands during this time. We simply told them no, push them away, and gave them a straw to chew on instead (medium sized like the In-n-Out or McDonald's straws are best). If you are lucky you might find a couple of teeth on the ground but I think they swallow most of them. You will know if they have a loose tooth, when they are relentlessly licking at something in their mouth. I did find a few as I was cleaning around the house. They look more like a set of ridges than a single tooth.

My six year old needs to get 2 baby teeth pulled. He has a cold and cough, and is taking medication...?
...would it be unsafe for him to have his teeth pulled now, since the dentist would be administering anaesthesia, and he's on cough and cold medication? Should we wait til he's better? Thanks.
My six year old needs to get 2 baby teeth pulled. He has a cold and cough, and is taking medication...?
It would probably be best to reschedule your child's appointment. Since your child already isn't feeling well, the last thing you want to do is add more discomfort. It would be best for everyone to do it at a time when he/she is feeling better again. Atleast that would be our recommendation at our office.
Reply:Yes, anytime someone has an upper respiratory infection/ cough/cold and are planned for anesthesia the procedure should be delayed, unless it is an urgency.

I'm scared of getting my last three baby teeth out. Any experinces.. Can you share them with me? Please?
I'm really scared. I'm really scared about getting the shots of novocaine. I hate dentists and they scare me.
Please tell me your stories... It would help. Does it hurt? What do the shots feel like and how long do they hurt? How long does the whole procedure take? How much do infeceted teeth hurt to extract. (Cuz I think one of them is infected)
Please tell me!
Thanks to anyone who says anything!
Also, I've come to a conclusion:
Doctors save lives;
Dentists just want to hurt you

Aww honey. Don't worry. I know ur scared, but it really isn't painful.
I also hate dentists, but had 4 adult teeth out (for braces)
The injections do sting a tiny bit. But are sooo quick, then ur mouth is totally numb.
It took about 30mins, to get my 4 teeth out.
All you'll feel is pressure, that's it honestly.
As yours are baby teeth, it won't take as long.
If i can do it, u can do it !! GOOD LUCK. Painless, and quick .
Reply:Well let me tell you this. I have a friend. And she broke her front tooth in half and shattered the broken piece. She had to go trough surgery because of it. She now has a false tooth. And she has had over 13 nova cane shots. And you're ******* COMPLAINING OVER 1 SHOT FOR BABY TEETH?!?!?!?!? For **** sakes tough it out. It doesn't hurt. Think about losing an entire half of your tooth, getting the other half still attached ripped out, and getting a false one put in. She never complained. SO QUIT YOUR WHINING, GROW A SET OF BALLS AND TOUGH IT OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:My Friend came to school after she had 8 of front baby teeth out.she looked a little creepy but she said she didn't feel a thing!SUCK IT UP!!!!

Why do we only have one set of baby teeth?
I can understand the first set is basically the milk teeth that needs replacement but what about the second set? Is there a particular reason why we don't grow a third set?
Why do we only have one set of baby teeth?
Well compared to a humans lifespan we are only baby's for a short period of time. After a certain age we need stronger teeth(adult teeth) to help digest all of the harsher stuff we eat as adults for the rest of our lives. Some individuals such as myself have been blessed with extra teeth (3rd) a condition called freakishly "shark teeth" (because shark have 3 sets) that are still in my gums waiting for me to loss the tooth above it to come up. I am over 20, lost a tooth recently and the 3rd one came up! Cool for me!
Reply:ask god
Reply:Well, you are a baby only for a short time after all...
But I agree, I kinda wish we had another chance then have to worry about keeping this set just fine for the rest of our lives. I have weak tooth genes from my family as it is.
Reply:Cause humans are genetically diphyodonts
Reply:we were never intended to out live that second set of teeth. With all of the advances in modern medicine though we unfortunately do. Bummer huh.
Reply:well, humans were intended to not eat meats(thats why are teeth are dull unlike most carnivorous animals which have sharp teeth) so we probably didnt need a third set because plants dont really damage teeth... whereas meat does so most other carnivores have many sets of teeth... like sharks.
Reply:we never needed a third set.

At what age do children quit losing their baby teeth??????
My son is 11 1/2 and has lost 5-6 teeth in the last month, I am not sure if he is doing this intentionally or what but it seems as if he is doing it on purpose?????
At what age do children quit losing their baby teeth??????
Unless he's taking a pair of plyers to his molars... what do you mean he's doing it intentionally? They stop losing their baby teeth when they have all fallen out, every last one. If he's been slow to lose them, they may be coming out quickly because his adult teeth are demanding the room. Are there adult teeth coming in to replace them? If there are, he's fine. IF NOT, then he needs to have an exam, because there could be an underlying medical reason.
Reply:my friends is almost 13 and he is not done losing them yet.
Reply:There is no way he would intentionally pull his teeth out it is just to painfull. He just might be going through period where alot of his teeth are coming out. And I didn't stop loosing my baby teeth until I was 14
Reply:they quit losing their baby teeth when all their baby teeth fall out.. im 15 and still have over half my baby teeth.
Reply:IT VARIES!!
Reply:all diferent ages. My daughter is eleven, and she still has six
of her baby teeth.
Reply:I'm 16, i had to have the last of my baby teeth pulled because i was already 14 and they wanted to put braces on.
Reply:my oldest is 13 and she still has a few
Reply:I was 12 when I lost my last one I remenber because it was the fourth of july and on an ice cone.
Reply:my sister, 5, has her first lose tooth.
and theres 2 of them growing behind the lose one
Reply:I'm 20 and I still have 1 baby tooth. I just had one pulled two years ago. My sister is 24 and she still has one too.
Reply:well i lost them wen i was 11 cuz i used to wear retainers so that i can get braces soon.so maybe about 12-13 yrs old
Reply:im 13 and still losing teeth
Reply:not sure how he can lose them "on purpose". your dentist will be able to tell you how many of the molars and canines remain.
Reply:Talk to him!!!!!!!!!!! say what is going on?
Reply:im 15 and i still have 2 baby teeth left to lose...it all depends on the kid and when the teeth are ready
Reply:I was a in the eleventh grade when the last of my baby teeth came out. My youngest boy will be 14 and he's only lost about eight of his baby teeth. The other children were also later than most others. I don't see how your son could be causing his teeth to loosen up and be pulled on his own.
Reply:It depends on the child. When I was twelve all my friends had lost their baby teeth years ago while I still had three or four left. I lost them though throughout the course of the seventh grade, it took them a while to grow in though. I had to walk around with three gaping holes where my eye teeth should have been!
Reply:Around 6 years old is when they start losing their baby teeth.
